Hi- I believe that it is not possible for we human beings to love others fully without the love of the Lord in us. We love imperfectly and often conditionally. And many people can be very unlovable in the way they act and respond to others. But God loves everyone unconditionally. I also think we can love others but not feel emotionally warm towards them. We dislike their actions and behavior. I felt that way about the adopted sister I grew up with. I believe I loved her for she was my sister. But we were so different and always viewed life differently and did not have much in common. I did not "feel" love for her in the emotional sense until the year before she died and then we became much closer and I felt love for her. I believe God worked in my emotions and allowed me to see her as He saw her, which allowed my emotions to embrace her and care more deeply for her.
It can give us comfort to know that God is the author of love and as we draw closer to Him and ask Him to work in and through us that we become more like Him. I think for many of us that is a process that grows and grows.
Thanks for sharing Brock and may God encourage you and give you peace in this process in your adoption journey.
Blessings, Jody

Hoping others touched by adoption who embrace the advocacy of the unborn will share here. I do feel this is a crucial issue in this election. Its important to share the life-giving option of adoption as opposed to abortion when birth parents chose not to parent.
Thanks for sharing!
