Looking for Male Christian to talk to
Im a 44 year old Male. I was adopted when I was 7 months old.
I am a Christian stuggling with faith and as I talk to my Christian mentors, friends they all have a hard time relating to me since they dont understand adoption issues. I have concluded that there is a relationship between my faith struggles and my being adopted and would love to talk to a Christian about it. When I say Christian I guess I mean, born agian, non-church centered, non-religous Christian. A book that is speaking to me is The Reason for God by Timonth Keller. Thanks in advance. |

Birth Father here and I too consider myself a Christan. So why is it so important that you talk to me. If I can help then I can only try, what more would you ask.

What is a birth father? Excuse my being naive
Also (Im NOT trying to be "harsh" or "crass") What does this have to do with my wanting to talk to an adopted male who is a Christian? |

I too had considered offering any assistance, as I consider myself Christian. However, I am an parent of adoptive children, and didn't figure I'd have much to help you with. If you do need advice, or just a sounding board, we're here for you regardless of whether we have been adopted, have adopted children, or have placed children for adoption. |

a "birth father" is a biological father of an adopted child. sometimes for short on the posts we call them bfathers or bdads. a "birth mother" is a biological mother of an adopted child.
i too am female, and not born again christian, so sorry i can't offer you any help besides listening. good luck |

I have found that often my greatest sources of healing come from unexpected sources ... people who have points of view that, at first, make me angry or defensive or sad ... usually some negative emotion. But after a while I grow and learn and come around to a place I would never have thought I would end up.
Don't be too narrow with your choices ... people with exactly the same beliefs as you in the same life situation often just fuel your current feelings without challenging you to learn and grow ... not always a nice process, but necessary for healing. Jane |

Jane ![]() You are correct and I agree. My situation is that Ive recieved input from Christians, non-christians, buddhist, new-agers, adoptive parents, etc, etc,, etc,,, and its all been good BUT....Ive havent found a male, around my age with the same belief system, struggling with similar issues. So, Ive been down the path that you are suggesting and am looking to go down a different path. But, I really appreciate your thoughts and idea. Thanks! |
