Just wanted to share about a newly announced candidate running for President in 2008. Senator Sam Brownback from Kansas, a very experienced Senator and politician. He has 5 children and a couple of them are adopted- a picture can be seen on his website for President.

I have admired Sam Brownback and I am from Kansas. Many years ago I headed an association for children for enforcement of support as a volunteer. Mr. Brownback answered EVERY letter I sent him. Recently, I have written various letters regarding adoption topics/concerns and once again, he answers them. I even have gotten calls from his office! He has my vote!!!

Hi Fantastik Mom, Thanks for posting and that is so great that Sen. Sam Brownback answered all your correspondence with him! It is obvious that he listens to the voters! Make sure you share about him with many others who may not know of him. We all can make a difference when we spread the word of good candidates to family, friends and our community on the internet- thanks so much for sharing! He has a website for his campaign and it includes a photo of his family including his adopted children. Hope others will check him out- this adoptive father from Kansas!

I hadn't even realized that he had adopted children - duh! OT, but do you know if the adoption tax credit was extended pass the five years? I know that it was *suppose* to be passed, but never heard anything more.

Thank you Jody for posting this. My father has worked with him off and on for many years. He thinks very highly of him.

SAHmom the tax credit will expire Dec. 31 2010. It never passed the senate.

Hi Michelle- thanks for writing and posting- spread the word about this man- that is how candidates less known get known. Does anyone know more of his adoption story - the photo on his website looks like he has older children and then adopted the younger children.
