I read a quote today by Christian evangelist Billy Graham. If you were thinking of sitting out this election- read this quote:

So make sure you mark your calendar to VOTE on Nov. 7th! And you can do much to encourage your friends and neighbors/co-workers to vote. It DOES make a difference and many of these elections see very POOR turnout if it is not a presidential election. If you know good godly candidates PLEASE share this info with your e-mails lists and friends and also share with anyone and everyone who can vote. It is sad when Christians sit in the pews and believe they cannot have an impact- Computers make it easy to spread the word to VOTE and share about great candidates. Spend these days spreading the word and uplifing these godly candidates who need YOU to get the word out especially in these crucial days before the election November 7th!

Elections for the United States Senate will be held on November 7, 2006, with 33 of the 100 seats in the United States Senate being contested. Senators are elected for six-year terms with one third of the Senate seats up for a vote every two years. The term of office for those elected in 2006 will be from January 3, 2007 until January 3, 2013. Those Senators who were elected in 2000 (known as "Class 1") will be seeking reelection or retiring in 2006.

The 2006 House election is scheduled for the same date as the Senate election, as well as many state and local elections, including those for 36 state governors.
