Biblical Adoptee, Esther, Movie,One Night With the King, October 2006 release

Watch for the upcoming previews of the movie about the biblical adoptee Esther, One Night With the King
to be released in theatres in October. Share with others about the movie. As an adoptee, I have enjoyed reading the biblical accounts about those adoptees and others who were not raised by their birth parents- Moses, Esther, Samuel, Joseph

Here is a review on the Esther movie, One Night With The King:
"An epic motion picture set in an imaginative world of adventure, intrigue and romance, One Night With the King follows a young girl who rises from peasant to princess by going against the culture and seeking the King's heart rather than the riches of the kingdom.

By 'chance' she is born with exceeding beauty to a people who have been carried away as slaves to the most powerful kingdom in the world. By 'chance' her parents are killed while she is young leaving her to be taken in by her uncle, a man who has found favor as a royal scribe. By 'chance' the Queen is executed by the unknowing King, spurned on by the ruthless plotting of palace princes hungry for power. By 'chance' the King is left feeling alone, pushed and prodded, desperate to live up to and avenge the battles of his father. By 'chance' Esther is carted off to the palace to become part of the King’s harem at the same time a vengeful young prime minister with the King’s ear is rising to prominence with a plan for orchestrating the genocide of her people.

So begins the story of Esther, One Night With the King, a story that reveals that all of life is under God's command. Power, position and prominence are one thing, but when Esther must choose between all she's ever dreamed of and the fate of her people, will she be able to find the courage to step forward and embrace her destiny?"

A friend from church went with me last night.
It was a good movie. Definitely a love story.
I did not know the story of Esther and I found it very interesting. Beautiful costumes and locations.
I wonder if they were computer generated? Probably.
I think the Jewish community would also really love this movie since she is in essence a Jewish heroine.
The King was a little cheesy. He had on a little too much eyeliner and some crazy outfits.
I really did enjoy it. I definitely recommend it.
I think even teenagers (especially girls) would like it.

Thanks Amber for sharing your review of the Movie- One Night With the King. It was also great to know that teenagers would likely be interested in the movie. I am eager to see it. As an adoptee, I have enjoyed reading about adoptees Esther and Moses in the Bible.
Hope others will share who saw the movie!

I have heard about the movie. Sounds good. I have read about Ester in the bible. Wouldn't it be great if other foster children were blessed the same way? I sit and wait for God to help people today, .like he did in the biblical days. Back then it seems as if there were alot of miracles, great wonderful things. WOuld be good if they happened more often in these times.

Hi Jackie from Jody! How great that you have read the great story of Esther in the Bible- she was a strong woman of faith and took risks to stand firm in her conviction and advocate for her people. I hope many will make a point to see this movie- as the more these movies get sales at the box office, they will make more of them and the bad side of Hollywood will sit up and take notice. I pray many persons will be inspired by seeing a life of an obedient Christian and see how she won God's and man's favor in the big picture!
Spread the word about this movie and the life of Esther- the adoptee whose life from bible days can encourage us today!
Blessings, Jody, adoptee

Thanks Jodie,

You know I came back the other day and read your post. Something hit me as I read the words... "seeing the life of a OBEDEINT CHRISTIAN, and how she WON GOD'S and man's FAVOR."

It just hit me...

Later that night, I was listening to the radio, before I turned it on, I had asked God to give me a word. Anyway, the pastor was praying for different people's prayer request... he stopped praying and said " he saw someone ( in the spirit) who's heart was hardened towards God; they had allowed bitterness to creep in because of past occurances." At that moment I began to feel a stong sensation... I knew it was me. He said "to let the Holy Ghost minister to my heart,to get a break thru, to worship God. Minutes later they played christian music, I began to sing the songs and I started crying out to God and it was as if He were there as if I had reached him and He heard me. I actually felt God so strongly and I felt different. I recieved a breakthru. WOW! I've been feeling peaceful and His love all day long!

Thank God and Thank you Jodie

By the way, I suppose it was conviction that hit me! lol
