Hi from Jody,Christian Adoptee Fellowship Begins Anew, Introduce Yourselves!
Welcome to Christian Adoptee's Fellowship! My name is Jody Moreen and I am excited that God has given me the priviledge to ressurect this former adoptee fellowship! I am an adoptee born in the 1950's in Milwaukee Wisconsin and was blessed to be adopted into a loving Christian family when I was 9 mos of age. Though my home was very loving and caring, I had many hidden feelings and unexpressed emotions that I carried within me. In my mid-thirties I embarked on a search for my birth family. God lead me to a local adoption triad support group in Indianapolis. For the first time I experienced being in a room with people all touched by adoption. I found a place where I could share and hear others share their adoption experiences, blessings and challenges in a safe and non- judgemental environment. During my search and reunion journey with my birth sisters I grew emotionally and spiritually. The Scripture verse from John that I felt God touching on my heart was " You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free." How true that was! And I learned that God had allowed adoption to touch my life for His purposes. He chose my birth parents and adoptive parents to give me the characteristics and environment that would mold me into the child He designed me to be. Though the adoption journey has not always been easy, God has been there to encourage and sustain me and to draw me closer to Him. And the greatest blessing in the process of this journey had been meeting many touched by adoption. I have loved hearing their tesimonies of how God has worked to reveal himself through their experience and healing journeys! I pray God will allow this fellowship to be a safe and encouraging place where His grace and presence is felt through sharing, caring and prayer! Welcome! Please invite your adoption friends to join us- they can find us by going to www.christianadoptions.com and clicking on "Protestant" in the list of faith denominations. When they click that a short list of 3 forums will come up- one being this forum- Christian Adoptee Fellowship.
Jody Moreen from Naperville, IL. Blessed to be a blessing!

I just found this forum...it does seem to be "hidden" can that be changed?
Anyway...I know now this will be the one I go to for support during this time of waiting for info from my search with Georgia Adoption Reunion Registry. I live in TN but I was born in Atlanta. I'm so blessed to have been adopted by the most wonderful parents. They have both passed away with cancer...I believe that is what has started my search...it has been 10 years sience their death. But I am emotionaly and spirutaly ready for a reunion now. Hope to be posting some good news soon! |

Hi Lisa! And thanks for posting on our Adoptee forum! It is wonderful to hear that you were blessed with a loving adoptive family. And difficult to have them pass away and miss their presence in your lives. It is not uncommon for many adoptees to search and find and seek reunions after their adoptive parents are deceased. I pray the Lord continues to lead you in your search and brings more answers and truth to you. His timing is perfect. Trust Him, He is faithful! Invite any other adoptees here who would like to join us!
Blessings to you and keep us posted Lisa! Jody in Illinois PS. I host a local adoption triad support group at my church in Wheaton IL, a western suburb of Chicagoland. I have been facilitating a group like this for over 10 years currently in IL and for a few years when I lived in Indiana.

Hi,
I am so thankful to have found this forum. Although I began on 'adoptee support', this one is more catered to my situation. I know beyond the shadow of a doubt that God has sustained and kept me even before I was formed in my mother's womb. So I was placed for adoption immediately after birth by a mom who felt that was the only choice for me to have a better life. I was with one foster family and adopted into my family at five months old. I was very blessed to be raised in a christian home with no form of abuse. Of course, I always felt different or somewhat like I didn't completely fit in. After giving my life to Christ, I decided to search for the missing link. God does all things in his time. So now two years later I'm in reunion with my birthmom, sisters, and grandma. The best part of my reunion is the fact that my birthmom is saved. I prayed for her even before our reunion. I knew that if she was a child of God that everything would work out. And it has. It's still very overwhelming at times because both my aparents are deceased and I grew up as an only child. I'm a loner and now I have my original family back. I'm proceeding with patience and honesty and I know that the newness will fade away soon. Thank God for you Jody and this wonderful forum. started search Oct. 2004 reunited March 6,2006 EPH 3: 20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, |

Hi C-curry-carla! Thanks for sharing your beautiful adoption and reunion story. It is awesome to hear of God's hand in your adoption and perfect timing in your reunion. And as you, I was blessed to be raised in a Christian home. That is not the experience of all persons, adopted or not. And to find your birth mother a believer in Jesus Christ is surely icing on the cake! I am so glad you found our forum and hoping we may get a more visible position here on the forums where more adoptees and other touched by adoption desiring a Christian fellowship can find us! Please spread the word!
Blessings on your ongoing adoption journey! Jody ![]()
