Hi From Jody Moreen, I am a reunited adoptee (with my birth sisters) and facilitator of an Adoption triad support group that meets monthly at my church- Faith Evangelical Covenant Church in Wheaton IL. (near Chicago) The group is called :
Adoptees, Birth Parents & Adoptive Parents Together. Meets on the 3rd Thursday of every month from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. (NEXT MEETING THIS THURSDAY MARCH 16th ) For directions for any one wanting to come that live in the area go to www.faithecc.org and click on "Directions" in the index. At our meetings there usually are about 10-12 attendees from all sides of adoption. We share our adoption stories, experiences, feelings and encourage and support one another. A friendly forum and we welcome newcomers and serve light refreshments. Also have a nice lending library of adoption books!
I also publish a free Christian outreach journal called Adoption Blessings, website listed in my signature- a 20 page free publication sent by US mail only- each issue has stories by all sides of the triad, even birth fathers sharing God's grace, hope and healing in adoption journeys. For a free issue, go to the website and e-mail me or fill out the simple form- no fees, an adoption ministry.
