Hi to all on our Christian adoptions list. November is Adoption Awareness month. A good time to reach out in our communities and educate the public on adoption. Share your story with a local newspaper column, a church newsletter, write a poem to share. Set up an adoption exhibit at a local mall, county fair, flea market, etc, and share resources on adoption, adoption books, etc. Encourage your local library/church library/school library to order adoption books- suggest good titles, Adoptive Families Magazine, etc. (Usually they will call you when the new item comes in and you can be the first to read it!
Host an adoption panel discussion with the adoption triad and time for attendees to ask questions or have an adoptee panel, adoptive parent panel or birth parent panel- a local adoption agency may be interested in hosting this and you can participate.
Send special cards out to those you know touched by adoption, and tell them it is Adoption Awareness month and that you honor them and how special they are to you!
