My Two Cents What is one of your worst fears?

What is one or some of your worst fears in life? Some that are not adoption related as well as some that are.

Just wondering what some of your worst fears are and if you have conquered them or not.

I have a total phobia of rattlesnakes...they scare the heck out of me. It doesn't help that I live on acreage in the Sierra foothills, where rattlesnakes love to slither. I'm so scared of them that I don't even go hiking anymore.

On a related note, I'm not sure I'll even go swimming in the river this year. Last summer, a man who was swimming in the Yuba River was bitten on the face by a rattler who was also swimming...

Snakes and storms. I'm fine with a storm as long as I'm not home alone... home alone... I sit and panic, lol.

Musings of a Crazed Belle

7-22-2008 Dad gets a defibulator put in, I'm sure he'll be showing everyone the bump for months, but no fishing for four weeks.
8-5-2008 A month since I talked to B and he hasn't called me back. Why am I not surprised?
8-9-2008 Liz the kitty comes to live with me. Now my house won't be so empty.
8-19-2008 I get contacts again (YAY) my teeth cleaned (YAY) and a cracked tooth repaired (BOO). The cracked tooth is from work, man I love my job.
9-9-2008 My schedule at work goes back to "regular" overnights, thank goodness, I was on my last legs there for a minute or two.
10-4-2008 Visited with Kiddo and his parents. My folks and I met them for a few hours and it was great.
11-18-2008 Mom and I meet in Pierre for supper. Man these new fuzzy jammies are cute.

One of my worst fears is losing all my money. It is silly but it is a fear. And spiders as I just killed a taranchula last week in my house!

My biggest fear - losing control. I am a control freak. I've dealt with it well over the years by figuring out how to accept minor amounts of control and learning to be happy with that. Raising kids is a challenge!

This week... Maybe my biggest fear is here

My biggest fear is not being able to breathe which leads to a bit of claustrophobia...

I second that! I have asthma so maybe that's why. It's so weird watching my kiddos burrow themselves into the tightest little spots. Or they'll bury themselves in the "ball pit". That would freak me out.

I have no real adoption related fears. My kids may well have issues with their adoption but I really think I can handle that. Every kid has issues with something!

Leaving my children motherless is by far my absolute biggest fear.

Well now that I'm a mother: everything.

But for me heights, flying, earthworms (so silly!), spiders, road kill, terrorism (I have that one bad)

Clowns. I am petrified of them (and so is poor DD). Which made our recent trip to the circus literally a nightmare!!!

As I get older, I also am increasingly uncomfortable in crowds and I am a bit claustrophopic.

Torture is one of my biggest fears.

I'm also afraid that I'll wake up to find my family dead. So if I wake up during the night I have to touch my hubby and my son to make sure they're breathing.

Another huge fear for me is drowning as I almost did as a young child and still remember it very vivadly. That is why Kelcee was swimming by age one.

Spiders
Clowns
and walking down a set of stairs that is open in the back. I just think someone / thing will reach through the steps and grab me.

Did anyone see the Oprah this week that attributed phobias to past lives?
