Do you have roses? I need ROSE Help!
We recently moved into a house that had been empty for some time (close to a year) - the previous owners (elderly) had a thing for roses and I'd like to try to continue that, simply because relandscaping a yard can be costly.
At any rate - I live in the desert (Yes, I know...) and I have about 40 bushes (front and back). They look...awful. For a year, no one watered them, no one took care of them..now some of them barely have leaves. Aside from watering an inch a week (researched and learned this) - what else can I do? Can I go ahead and fertilize now? 10-20-20 is recommended, right? Would it be best if I cut them back almost to the ground, then fertilized and watered, hoping for something better next year? I need help...they look so bad!
