Exclamation Scared Sister

I currently live with my mother in an appartment building in illinois, but in a few months she will be moving to Arizona and i will be going to live with my god sister and her husband. My God Sister is expecting a child, and im to be somewhat of a live-in babysitter... but i have no clue how! Having grown up as an only child, and the youngest of about 7 cousins, I have had no experience in dealing with infants. Im clueless, and im worried that if my God Sister leaves me with the child for more than 10 minites that i'd be making a call to 911. If anyone out there reads this, could you please help me to know what to do?
Thank You.

Hey Butterfly,
First thing you should do is call you local hospital and see what classes they offer for new parents. Obviously you won't be a new parent but usually the hospitals offer some classes on newborns and infants that may benefit you. You also may ask if they have a pediatric CPR class and if they do I would strongly advise you to get certified. Also ask if they have any classes on babysitting. Most hospitals offer these for free and they are relatively short and painless. Tell your Godsister that you would not want to be left alone with the baby until you are comfortable. Good luck.
