Question Rate for Child care?

Need help please. For the first time in over 13 years we have to pay for summer care for our two boys. They are special needs ages 13 & 14. I work within 1/4 mile from home in rural IL., pop. less then 1000. Always before they went to work with me in the summer. Own a trucking company and the business has grown to the point where I can not do both effectively. Mainly need someone in home to fix meals and just keep tabs on them. They were also getting bored there. Have a friends teenage daughter who is going to watch them. Please help with suggesting a fair rate. I am at a lost. thanks

Well since it would be a summer job for her..i would pay er what the minimun wage is in your state(sorry from canada..so dont know what it would be). Since there are two boys i would then up the wage by a couple dollars... Figure out what that comes to in a week..and maybe pay on a weekly basis..or whenever you get paid.

Im sorry i cant give you a dollar amount..cuz im not sure of how much that job would cost in the states..i know in canada that job would probably go for around $10-$13 an hour.

I hope i helped at least a little bit. Good luck

I pay 25/day for a child under one year old with no disability.

In home care is more expensive than at a babysitter, on average. Our babysitter only has two other kids so we're lucky.
