I saw this somewhere else and thought it might be a good idea for a thread.


What brings you back to the forums day after day, week after week, and in some cases year after year?

I know what brings me here, but I want to hear from others first. This question is open to all members.

My now desperate wish for children to be placed with me. This forum has given me hope, ideas for dealing with difficult situations, and have attempted to give me peace of mind in my waiting period. Although knowing how impatient I am I'll probably be going crazy until I get children placed with me. BUT I know that once I do have kids placed with me that I have somewhere to go when I have stressful or difficult situations to deal with.

I'm totally addicted, lol. and I've met some interesting people here.

For me, I keep coming back becuase I got a lot of support from everyone here while I was waiting, and I hope I can give support to someone when they need it.
It is very hard to get through the waiting, and wondering, and it definately helps to be in touch with other people who know what you're going through.

I keep coming back because we plan to adopt again, and I want to keep up on what is going on in the countries.

I come back also, because I want to follow some of the journeys of the people I've talked to to the end, when their children are placed, and then some, to see how it's going.

I come back for the great advice, too, and because occassionally, someone asks a question that I've had experience with.

I come back each day because of the friendships I have formed and the support. I have become entangled in others lives, know of their stories, and cry with them when they're sad, laugh with them when they're happy. I look forward to seeing who posted what each day and miss it if I skip a day or two. I have come to care deeply about the others who post here, we are all intertwined by shared experiences. I know that I can put it out there, and lots of people will respond with support and advice. That's very comforting. Tammi

I come back because:
1. I'm addicted.

2. I find I learn something new everyday.

3. I find that I can teach people about birthmothers, open adoption and other important issues here.

4. The wonderful friends I have made.
