Superstitions.
I was wondering if we would like to share some old-wives tales or superstiotons we may have had growing up that we implement today, such as..
I was making dinner tonight and I had spilled a bit of salt on the floor,, so I grab my small hand sweeper,, but I also took a pinch of the salt and tossed it across my shoulder, I grew up watching my parents do this it was said spilled salf will bring bad luck, unless you toss some spilled salt over your shoulders, I think it would be fun to read others!! |

The full moon was my mom's big thing, and she always said bad things come in threes.

I have a co-worker that takes sugar and throws it over her shoulder. What's that about?
Oh of course: Crossing paths with a black cat, Stepping on cracks, breaks your mama's back, crack/break a mirror, its bad luck for 10 years, Full moon brings out the worst in people, A pregnant woman will go in labor on a full moon(close to term), Hey diddle, diddle, the cat in the fiddle, the cow jump over the moon, the dog laughed to see such a sport, and the fork ran away with the spoon... Oops.. thats a lil poem. My bad. Silly ole me. ![]() |

I grew up with so many superstitions it was not funny!! Crossing a black cat meant some bad news, white cat meant good news, a crow in the day time meant bad news!!! Going outside with wet hair you would get sick, seeing an animal use the bathroom you would get a tye in your eye!!! Theier was also the one for new babys, it was called "Mal de Ojo"
wihc mean tevil eye. They would have to place a red string in the middle of the childs forehead from preventing evil looks!! Lillian |

I heard that too JoEvans, about the bird,, Wearing a hat in the house is suppose to be bad luck also,,
I have heard that if your front door is directly aligned with the back door that means money in and money out.. What about Elevators not having a 13th floor ![]() |

I walked under a ladder one time and my mom made me walk under the other way to undo the bad luck.
