ok, now that we've officially started the competition (good grief did that take long enough?), i'm curious to hear who people like.

taylor hicks won me over tonight.

Taylor Hicks is very good, he is my favorite thus far. The guy who did Shout was also pretty good. A lot of the performances tonight were just terrible. I don't know what that guy was thinking singing Cocacabana.

Well, I have three favorites so far...

I like Ace... I think he is a bit dreamy (along with being able to carry a tune)...
I think my favorite is Chris, who did the Bon Jovi song.
Of course, we are from Birmingham, AL, so I will probably be voting for Taylor Hicks -- he really does have a great sound, I think, especially if my fave gets knocked out.

Actually, I will really have to see how they play out throughout the season... I really will just vote for my favorite, if I even vote (I don't always vote every week).

Funny, my friend went out with her guy friend to go dancing several weeks ago, and they couldn't find a good band to dance to that night. Her friend told her not to worry, he knew this guy who played really well and was fun and they would definitely go out and get to dance... well, he called the next week and said "Well, we can't go dancing this week, because apparently this guy is out of town for American Idol." It was Taylor Hicks, of course!

I like Chris and Ace. I was concerned w/ Chris taking on Bon Jovi- but was very pleased when he did it so good. With the girls last night I really liked Katherine, my 6 year old daughter is a huge Kelly Pickler fan!

For the girls my favorite is Paris, I think she has one amamzing voice.

I actually get to watch this because the kids like the music and to dance...until they fall asleep in my bed!

I love Taylor Hicks (gray haired guy right? I am so bad with names lol!) Ace is definately a hottie...I liked the Shout guy too.

I like Paris for the girls and I am stuck to remember who else...but I did miss a couple of them perform...2 hours is too long...

So, they have who gets voted off on tonight right? Who do you think is going?

For the guys...ohhh, too many choices...but I think the guy who went first and the Coppacabana dude are good choices...

Paris Bennett is my fav among the girls. I also like Mandisa, she has one heck of a voice.

As for the men, I like Taylor and the guy that did the Stevie Wonder song, although I cannot remember his name.

Ace is hot, has a good voice, but clearly not the best voice and I really am not crazy about the George Michael song he did. Did I mention he is HOT!?

it really bugged me tonight how the back row of girls both times when ryan announced they were safe, cheered and clapped and waved their arms and celebrated. i thot that was really rude and insensitive as the front row girls sat there knowing they were not safe. paris and the tall basketball player were the worst. not nice...... and not smart.

the guys didn't do that. they showed some class.

i'm not sure patrick should have been the first to go. but, i didn't vote so i guess i can't complain. i'm glad bobby is gone. he never should have made it to hollywood in the first place.

Can I say, I really wanted Brenna to go. She is not the worst singer, just incredibly annoying. I am not trying to be mean, but her posing in front of the camera all the time is getting to me.

I don't feel Patrick should have gone though. I think there were others that should have gone before him.


All in all , I feel the two girls that left were justified, they did not have the best performances.

I love Ace and for the girls either Paris or Kellie. I really wanted to see Brenna go I didn't like her from the start.

What is it about Taylor Hicks? He's definitely my favorite, too. I appreciated Randy's statement that there has never been anyone like him on Idol to date.

When you put Brenna up against all of the (what appears to be!) genuinely nice folks, she definitely comes up wanting. I was kinda amazed to see her crying when her roommate got voted off.
