My crayons are packed.
I've made my little lunch, PB & J.
I've ironed my clothes, haven't had to do that in ages, still don't like doing that.
I've packed coloring books in case I get to meet my students, Marissa and Sam.
I wonder if I'll sleep tonight. These people are wonderful, but I'm a little nervous, and I expected that. Very excited though, for my first day of school.

The little kicker is, I've got to get Kristen all the way to camp 1st, then drive to work. That's just for tomorrow and Friday. After that, it'll be a piece of cake, as she and Eric start school on Monday.

Must get some sleep.

It seems like everytime I forget to check in there is big news. Sally, I sat upright and couldn't stop reading until I got to the last post. I am sure it made a dent in judy's 'control armor'. Even if you don't hear from them, it definitely did something to them.

Gayle, I'm happy to read that things are moving along and are better.

leeann, good luck on your new job. I am sure you'll do great and those kids sure are lucky.

I'm still around and have hopefully a few more weeks until the arrival of the twins. I have had some complications and am on meds to keep the contractions at bay, but every day is a big milestone. We can just hold our breath.

Sal - any news from Shannon? OH - I almost forgot - last night my boss told me we can now reschedule my trip to Indy - so as soon as that's done - I'll let you know. After Indy - I apparently have to go to Skokie and babysit that new hotel while we look for a controller. (Oh joy...)

Hi everybody, thanks so much for the well wishes! I had a wonderful first day. I didn't get to meet the kids yet, that will be tomorrow. I met the very friendly staff today, what a great school. This is definitely the place to be while I'm learning. I think I'll sleep like a rock tonight!! GE, I don't miss accounting, yet!! Only time will tell, you never know!

TwinSis, how many weeks along are you now?? Are you resting alot!! We can be the "stay off your feet" patrol here, if you need that!! Did you find out if you are having girls, boys, or one of each, or are you waiting to be surprised? With all of my kids, I loved the surprise!

Glad you had a good first day. Your kids strt tomorrow??? Mine start tuesday. We got the middle school assignments today..meaning what team they will be on....the neighborhood was in my house, studing the news paper.laughing, giving their opinions on certian teachers, some good some bad.boy can they be brutal!! And generally starting to get excited. It was really cute to watch them.....We have a new 6th grader starting middle school, I drove them all up to the school so she could see her new homeroon, locker ect....the "more experianced" kids showed her around and you could see the excitemnt and fear written all over herface....awww....my daughter..the 10th grader was just so great with her.hmmm why can't she be like that with her 7th grade brothers!!!

Anyway, another year started.before you know it I will be done with the middle schools...its been a LOOOONG time, my oldest being 22 and the youngest 2 13..have had someone their almost every year..had one year break..I think I am ready!!

Hi Donna! Eric and Kristen start on Monday, as do the kids at the school that I work at, but tomorrow at the school I am working at, we are having time for the kids to visit the classroom. I think it'll be a whirlwind of a day, and of course Monday will be for sure.

Eric is going to be in 9th grade, first year of high school for him. Kristen is going to be in 5th grade, first year of middle school for her. In my little town, because of space and demographics, that's how it works out. Eric and Kristen had orientation / visits yesterday. I think they are both excited to get back to school. And Jim will be going back to his plumbing classes, I think in September. Busy kids!!

It's exciting, they've got all their new stuff, chance for a fresh start, and last year went by so fast, even with all the wonderful events we had going on here at home. It is true, the older I get, the faster time seems to pass!
