Hi Proxy. . .
I am so happy for you in regard to your new job. . . .well, I'm always happy for you in general too. I think they have chosen wisely when they chose you for this position. You have a great compassion for others and this little one will be blessed to have you in her life. Having taught for 30 years , I still miss the interaction with young people and I saw so often many, many children who might have prospered had they had someone as caring as you working with and for them. The very, very best to you. . .and keep us updated .
Hugs
Carol

Just returned from a manicure and haircut. I must be getting ready for school, too......or is it for Thursday's interview for a new job. Send lots of positive thoughts this way everyone. Believe it or not, I freeze and sometimes even forget where I am during interviews. Know my stuff but hate to be put on the spot......
Wow...Cathy...how great seeing you here for a cup of "coffee". Sally's "new blend" has us certainly coming back for more. Speaking of which, where is that girl today....... Probably out mowing the grass and contemplating.
LeeAnn....most parents are bouncing and counting the days waiting for THEIR kids to return to school. Nice to see you bouncing for another reason. You will be fantastic. Yes, you DESERVE your own box of crayons.
I really must get my butt in gear and do some housechores that I have been putting off for 2 weeks. I really do need a "wife" or at least a cook / housekeeper.
Have a great day, ALL....
Catch ya later,
"K"

K...Nice to see you... I am waiting for my bro to get here for a visit. He was out shopping at the mall by my house and wants to stop by. I think I will have to post every day just to keep up here...

I wanted to tell you that my hub, Lexi and I will be going to Carmel, CA this Thursday for a family vacation with Lexi's birthfamily. This will be the second time that we have seen Lexi's birthmom's brother, wife and daughter. Lexi's birthmom will not be there. She still hasn't seen any pictures I have sent to her and she never seen Lexi at birth. We have a open adoption with Lexi's grandma. We see her atleast 2-3 times a year. Can't wait to see them...Lexi's grandma will be there also. We rented a house by the beach...

My bro is here. I will check back later to see if Sally posts...

Talking

Hi, All!
Nice guess about the "mowing grass and contemplating", Kat, but in reality, today was consumed by "Beauty and the Beast"! We began our fall session this evening, and today was eaten up by trying to figure out how to squeeze 24 kids into a production that really only has eight "meaty" characters. And then you have your kids who won't sing solos.....and ones who will only sing in a group....and those who refuse to sing at all.....(which is a shame when you have a fabulous character actor, but they won't sing.....).....and then you have your "package" kids, who love singing, dancing, acting and can do all three.....
It becomes mind blowing after awhile, and that's where I am right now.....sitting here, at 10:30, with a blown mind!!! I have an amazing "Belle" and and equally incredible "Beast".......my "Mrs. Potts" will steal the show, because she gets the solo of a lifetime with the song "Beauty and the Beast" and is capable of blowing the audience out of the water........but that's where it really stops being so cut and dried. It will take a few days for me to process the rest!! Yesterday, I was in Indy, rehearsing for my own role in the newest "Harmony" play ( a series of plays adapted from the "Harmony" books, written by Phillip Gulley). I have an enormous role in this one in comparison to the last.....and it's really hard! My character has always been a "doormat", but she's finally fed up with her overbearing husband, and she kicks him to the curb!! The trick to it all is that Quaker people are very quiet people --- if there is conflict or rage, it's internal and not generally displayed outwardly. So I have to deliver these "scathing" lines to my blowhard spouse with quiet, internal rage --- something that's not easily visible on stage, if ya know what I mean!!
I will get there......but I am glad I have several weeks to find my way with this one!!
No....I didn't hear anything from Shannon!! I didn't figure I would, tho. I kind of doubt they all know what to make of the fact that I've somehow managed to inflitrate their little "corner of the world". It will be fun to see what comes of it, tho! It may take awhile, but something will come from it....
I just think it's nice that I have made a "presence" for myself in their world now. Before, I was "there" but never in "their camp", so to speak. Even a mile out here is kind of an "out of sight, out of mind" kinda thing.....but now, I am no longer out of sight. In the last couple of weeks, they've learned that I've talked to one of Bob's friends....and, I've entered a contest in a place where almost everyone who saw my picture would have known Bob -- and most assuredly knows Judy and Don.
If nothing else, it's a reminder that I am here to stay....and perhaps is a way for them to see that I am just a regular joe -- just like everyone else out here. I'm not scary....I'm not some "high on the hill" woman.....I'm just as much a "Jefferson Township" kinda gal as the next. Maybe it did some good in more ways than one??
Well, I should head to bed.....I need to turn off all the thoughts of dancing tea cups and talking wardrobes, singing "Be Our Guest" before I end up in a straight jacket!!
Proxy, I can mail you my sunflower if you would like to see it!
Hugs,
Sal

Skinny and Proxy.....
If your e-mail addresses are the same as they were during our Purpose Driven Life discussions, then you should have a couple of pictures in your e-mail boxes.
They may not be very vivid, since they are so large and dense, but you can at least get a general idea.
The Sunflower and the one of Shaela, at the zoo, on the carousel were taken with a 4.1 megapixel, so they are smaller -- but the one of the bee on the coneflower was an 8.1 megepixel.....not sure how well those will transfer via mail -- but I'm trying just to see!
Hugs,
Sal

Sally, they are totally breathtaking! You are extraordinarily talented, my friend. Thanks so much for sending them! I was able to view them in a little slide show program, totally cool!!

It looks like I definitely start work on Thursday, which is great because by then I'll stop clothes shopping!! Today I shopped at Walmart, they had great button-down shirts, and I found a neat blazer. Tonight, I took Kristen shoe shopping. She is all set and then some. Girls and shoes! Too cute. Payless Shoe, thank goodness for that place! Kristen is almost 11, and she takes a size 9 woman's shoe, so shoe shopping and finding something nice, but not too grown up, is a challenge. Next year she will be in a junior clothes size, help me.

Eric just needs one pair of sneakers, and he'll be all set. So simple! T-shirts, jeans, and a pair of sneaks. Done.

I hope everyone is doing well! GE, will you be able to send us wedding pictures???? Please????

Yes, Sally, it IS all that. Amazing. The sunflower really reminds me of the quilt I saw over the weekend.

Thanks, Sal. The sunflower was beautiful, but Shaela was more so.

Gosh, Guys!!
You really make me feel good!!
No one ever really sees my pictures except for family, and you never know when they are telling you the truth, ya know?
Yes, Mil....Shaela is beautiful!! The Good Lord really out did Himself when He created her!!!
You have no idea how many times I've wished her birthmom could see just how incredible she is -- outside, and in.
Thanks for all your kind words, everyone!!
Hugs,
Sally
