That was SO good. I was smiling as I read it. I'm sure you will have a smile on your face all night. Enjoy your evening.

Wow ! Sally, was that a Kodak Moment or What ! !
As usual you handled it with grace and style. . .I wish I were a little dust bunny nesting in Judy's hair, listening to the conversations between Judy and Don that followed throughout the evening and night ! Probably could make a Saint Blush ! You know, I always believe God has a sense of humor. . . and He set this scenario perfectly. Now. . . a bone to pick with you re: judges were a bunch of old geezers from the Lions Club. I happen to be " an old geezer from a Lions Club " as was My Bob. He was a Past District Governor of Lions in Oklahoma and I am a Past President of 2 different Lions Clubs and of the OK Lions Briggs Memorial Scholarship Foundation. We " old geezers" have a lot of fun together. I'm used to that term 'cause that's what my own kids are always saying. . . The important thing to remember is: One day. You Too, will be an " old geezer" somewhere. Hugs amid much amusement here, Carol |

Sally, you are truely amazing. In all of this, I LOVE the fact that you're thinking about entering your photos in more contests. I'm running out for the day, however if you'd like to email me the winning picture, I'll try and reduce it so that you can post it here.
Okay, need your creative assistance. I am getting a tattoo for my 40th birthday. I think I want to do something symbolic, maybe abstract, encompassing my life journe, (I know this sounds dramatic), not just my experience with adoption, but my life in general. I'm thinking about what to do, and I'd LOVE suggestions! Also, I GOT A JOB, FINALLY!! This is an entirely new direction for me. I am going to be working at a beautiful little elementary school. I have been appointed as a special education assistant for a 6 year old 1st grader with several neurological challenges. I am so excited, I can't wait to meet this little girl and her parents. I've met the classroom teacher at my interview last week, and she is wonderful. I am planning to go back to school to earn my master's in teaching also. Very excited!! I'm off for a second day to the Worldwide quilt show, with Kristen!

Sounds like there is good news all 'round here. Sally's photogentic talents has taken her to "stardom" in a neighbouring community, not to mention the astonishment to "aunt Judy".
LeeAnn.... That's fantastic news. With your wonderful, caring personality, your enthusiasm combined with your love for children and educational background, this little darling will do nothing short of thriving under your guidance. I wish you both a very happy and successful year. A quilting exhibit....interesting. You will be pleased to know I have decided instead of sitting around here "dwelling".. ... I have decided to make a quilt top. Started last week and have 5 blocks completed. Very simple pattern..... sort of a picture frame design (I think it does have a name somewhere). 3 separate frames around a small square. Have picked 4 coordinating colors for the frames and yet to decided on the color of the small squares. Probably the same color as the solid alternate blocks. As I progress further along, I may decide to embroider "someones " name and date of birth on a solid block. Have to wait and see how things progress. I have an aunt who quilts so will engage her assistance in the final process. Something productive to fill in my "spare" time.Continued HAPPY DAY, to all. LOL "K"

Hi Kat!! Thanks for the thumbs up on my new job. I am really excited about it!! Quilting, so awesome! Is the pattern called "Attic Windows"? I love that pattern, and surprisingly did not see alot of it today. The quilts I did see were so amazing, so different, just beautiful. Whether anxious, calm, happy, sad, content, quilting can be a wonderful thing. Just don't be too fussy about it. I always remind myself when I try something, that it's not supposed to look like it came from Kmart, or even from Neiman Marcus or Linen's N Things. It is homemade after all. I haven't quilted in years, and I'd like to try and slowly get back into it. Kristen is very inspired too, after today. We had a blast!

Sally, I NEED to see this picture. At the quilt show today, I saw a quilt that reminded me of your photo in a major way. The quilt is of a large sunflower, and a smaller one, set against a blue sky, no clouds though, but blue, blue, blue, and beautiful. The quilt was shaded, it was incredible, I wish I had my camera with me. ![]()

hey all
So glad to hear about your new job LeeAnn. I am actually returning to special ed. after a 4 year hiatus. I accepted a position in our local district. It's a big jump financially for us, so we're very happy about that!
I've been lurking all summer, just have not had much to say, although I have been held captive by Sally's recent activities! |

Thanks, Jenn! I may have some questions for you as I begin this journey. I am so excited!
Hi Cathy! Yes, post more often. It has been a quiet summer overall, with a crescendo (sp) of Sally's quest for her truth and for respect that she deserves and is long overdue her, IMO. I pray for that all the time. How are your little ones? Keeping you busy?? Kristen is in one final week of day camp, I hope they mix it up a bit as this is her 9th week. She loves it there. Eric is all done with camp for the summer, and is home with me for the week. I may be starting work on Thursday, once my paperwork is processed with the town. I am clothes shopping today for just a few things. And I think it would be nice to get my own box of crayons, so fun, and some coloring things for me and my student. I'm hoping to meet her this week, before school begins with all the students.

Hey Proxy...
I did have your email.. I don't know how I missed it.. My kids are doing great. Can you believe my Lexi will be 3 next month? I can't believe how fast the time goes. Lexi has been doing great in Day School. She goes 2 times a week. She does Ballet and Computer at school. She knows how to type her name now.. That kid is so smart. I enrolled Sean for School when he turns 2 this Dec. I hope he will do ok. He is such a momma's boy. I guess I will have to wait and see..I don't know what is going on with Sally. I need to take the time and read the last few pages... Have a great day everyone.. ![]()
