Hello Everyone ~ It's been a long day, but I wanted to touch base before turning in.
Chrissy ~ I am so happy that you're published!!! And to be unedited really says a lot...like it was all meat and no filler! Paige ~ (((HUGS))) to my buddy! Glad to see you coming by. You used to say that "one day" you'd post on the McThread (Yeah We Found Her), then Deb's Thread...glad you made it here while the thread is still open! Sambuca...ah! The memories of my last ex-husband. Sambuca was (probably still is) a traditional drink for him at all of the Wrap Parties after a movie was filmed. We'd toast the completion with 3 shots straight w/coffee beans to suck off afterwards. Man, I miss being able to have a drink from time to time.... Well, this may well be one of my last "late nights." I finally got a sleeping pill script today, so I can pick em up tomorrow. YES!!! Hope all of you have a great night. ~Deb |

Good morning everyone.
I just wanted to check in before I dive into another hectic day. I'm exhaused. I had a legislative reception to go to last night and didn't get home until late and tonight I have another one to go to down in Salem, OR (3.5 hour drive) and then I have to go to DC on Friday night. I just want to crawl back in bed and stay there! Whine, whine, whine. I've locked my keys in the car a time or two. Yesterday I topped that when I got to my first meeting and realized that I had on two different shoes. I had to wait until lunchtime to get a new pair. What a dork. Paige |

Well, I can see now that sambuca is something I absolutely MUST experience!!!
Any kind of alcohol that goes with coffee has my name written all over it! We'll be ordering an ample supply for Truvy's straight away!! I'm hangin' out with Shaela today.....but she woke up grumbling about not feeling well -- a suspected ploy to keep her mother from going to work, in my opinion -- but since her big brother is getting married tomorrow, and the big rehearsal "hooo-ha" is tonight, we've been instructed to stay in today, instead of going out on our once a week, paint the town red, play day. It's only 8:30 and I've already sent her to bed for her "attitude" and now, she isn't speaking to me, so it looks like we are in for quite a day! For me, personally, there is nothing that gets my dander up quicker than a five year old with an "attitude"!!! I think sometimes Aunt Sally is a little less "permissive" than mommy and daddy. If I had given even a quarter of the attitude to my parents that she is free to give others, I would have been in SO MUCH TROUBLE I wouldn't have seen the light of day until I was 21!!! However, when she is in my care, I have permission to dole out the rules as I see fit, and well........I don't do "back chat" (as the super nanny calls it! ) If she wants to smart off to me, I will warn her once.....when that fails, she can go to her room until she feels she can apologize. I kept her in there five minutes (one minute for every year of her age) and then I went in, and asked her if she would like the opportunity to apologize.......she stuck her head under the covers and told me to "go away" -- so away I went, and she has now been in there about an hour, whining, but not coming forward with an apology, and not attempting to get up.......so I will leave her to her "mood". She will come out when she wants.I would never make it in the world of "permissive parenting"!!!!!! I never in all my days dreamed of smart mouthing my parents.....EVER!!!! Heck, I was 40 years old before I ever said a cross word to my dad, and that was just over a month ago!!! LMAO I've been around a lot of Shaela's friends and their parents, and things are certainly a lot different than when I was a kid!!!! What they call "the right to express themselves" seems to me to be encouraging their sesnse of entitlement -- like they are automatically entitled to just spout off whatever they wish with no repercussions! Shaela is at the age now, where she wants to contradict every single thing I say! EVERYTHING I say.....it make me insane....and when it starts at 6:45 in the morning, I feel as tho I had best set the rules down early, or our day is not going to go well!!! LMAO Well, I think I will take this moment and head to the shower, while she is still pouting!!!! Chat atcha Later! Hugs, Sally

Good morning, Paige! I laughed when I read that you had on mismatched shoes...sounds like something I would do. I remember getting out of the car to go into the office (more than once) and realizing I was dressed to the nines with bedroom slippers on. Needless to say, I have never been a real motivated morning person.
Sally ~ Sounds just like my exasperation with Orion's attitude sometimes. He plays Missy like a hand of cards. He tries me, but is learning that it just ain't gonna work for granmama. My thing is that I refuse to acknowledge him when he whines...I only "hear" talking. It's going to be a busy day. My daughter (Stacy) is 30!!! We are having a little family get-together for her tonight at my mom's, and we'll go do the more "partying" thing over the next weekend. This weekend is our "working" weekend...we are doing our volunteer thing with Habijax. I look forward to strapping on the old toolbelt...such a rewarding feeling to know that we are helping make someone's dreams come true with a home of their own. Both of my daughters are involved, so it is like a neat bonding to all work together out there. Hope you all have a good day...Missy and I are heading out to do some "birthday" shopping. ~Deb |

Took me a while, but I did finally find you all! I posted on the other thread started by Katnap and thought that no one cared
Here's what I posted, and after I get caught up with everyone's stories will post more later! I re-wrote the letter to my pastor, not changing the content, just the legibility of it. I didn't think it would be such a hard thing to do! It was easier when I was just brain storming and wrote it all down, but to know that I will actually be placing this card with the letter in it in the mail, and that SOMETHING COULD come of it....so, it's in the box right now, with the flag up for the mailman to pick up, and since we are in the same state, he should be receiving it by Saturday! It's hard to describe what I'm feeling right now, even though many of you have gone through these same emotions! Of course, if anything DOES happen, I WILL let you all know! Thank you all for the wonderful support so far! Tigger4jdt |

Deb's dd & Toby - Happy birthdays all around! Deb, Fill us in on the 30th celebration - I need some ideas for MY 30th in a couple months! - I mentioned over on Maia's Mardi Gras thread about going to N O for a celebration...how fun would THAT be?
Maia! You can have my autograph if I can have yours! YOU just had a letter to the editor published, too! You're the trendsetter around here... Wow...it's like a movement or something....Bmoms and Adoptees Taking Over Editorial Pages Around The Globe!** just so yóu all know, you can find the paper all over the country - so look in your local deli for The Irish Echo. It's published herein NY but it's sold all over** (LeeAnn I bet you can find it up there in Mass for sure) Deb - is Habijax like Habitat for Humanity? Great organizations...one of my colleagues here was HH president for a while, that's great that you're doing it - and that means you must be FEELING pretty good, too! Tigger- so exciting! I'm glad you went for it! It's a step, just writing it all down is a step...keeping you in my thoughts! Glad you found it, sorry I'm bad at giving "directions" Sally - seems the girls can be tougher then the boys sometimes (comparing my daughter to my son - she is a REAL trip) I've had to do the Deb trick and "not hear" the whining... she is a rather demanding child. She's tough. Every day something new with my Ninja-Ballerina (what she wants to be when she grows up - just about sums up her personality!) MMMM coffee sounds good right about now. Think I'll get some...
