a spring day

hi guys....

Today was a beautiful spring day in PA... my 5 year old LOVES being outside... and she played outside ALL afternoon....

she made mud pies... and ran around barefoot...(it's not THAT warm yet, folks...).. and had muddy feet... muddy hands... and she was soooo HAPPY!!!

she was also filthy and stinky... so we stuck her in the tub prior to dinner.... normally she gets her bath before bed...

well.... david noticed that her eyes were looking droopy... and then all of a sudden... she was out cold... sound asleep in the tub....

thought you might enjoy the moment with us!!!

julie

Sweet story Julie. When D/D #1 was little, she fell asleep in the tub. I was right there & she looked like a little floating frog! I called D/H in & he was so afraid that she would drown! Not a chance, she was just so relaxed!

Asleep in the high chair while eating messay pasta! One of my favorite pictures of my son. Now he's almost 12, working on homework (or should I say stalling)....

I might be willing to try some "new" things, but I was thinking along the lines of ethnic food. Ain't gonna change THAT much.

Enjoy every minute, Ladies, They are gone in a flash! I was writing about this in my journal & dug out a photo of myself holding D/D#1 as an infant, almost 26 years ago. I copied it & glued it in with one of me & the "little one", D/D#3, taken this past Christmas. 26 years! Where did they go???

SO true. And my kids are still little...watching my 7 year old yesterday at the playground put his arm around his sister and guide her away from the swings when a "big kid" took her swing - then my son reached in his backpack and gave her a lollipop to make her feel better. Gosh! How I wish I could capture those moments in a jar, how precious they are.

Weren't those the days?! We should all remember that incredible joy of living in the moment and enjoying the mud around us!

Gayle, I think that is a COOL way of looking at it! I love it! I think that could be very "Me".

KAT - I think I will start with your idea of doing the fake tattoos first - if not to get it out of my system then to find the right spot to get the "real" tattoo....god forbid I get one in a spot that annoys me! - AND get started on trying some good ethnic food! You don't know what you're missing - start with some Pad Thai! Yum!

Skinnylou - love the picture of your girls...what an awesome background.

Oh yes, how quickly they grow up. My youngest is 4...it feels like yesterday I became a mom, that was 11 years ago.

My MOM told me "when they're young, they step on your feet, when they're grown they step on your heart".

I want to share something funny that my 4yo said yesterday......we were riding in the car and went past a cemetary and Logan said "look at the dead people garden". I almost had to pull over I was laughing so hard. (i know i have a warped sense of humor)

It's gonna be 80 degrees here today, so ya'll want catch me around anymore today. I'm gonna go outside and make mud pies in my barefeet...it sounded like fun.

Precious picture, Julie! My son was looking through some old albums a couple years ago. He tripped me out with some comment about the "goofy" way I dressed them...bell bottoms and such. Guess in his narrow world, the styles have never changed...it has always been skater clothes, droopy crotch pants and Vans.

I agree! One of greatest pleasures is food! My kitchen is small, but one cabinet and a whole countertop is full of spices and herbs...I LOVE trying different foods. Used to go out and find them...now I cook a lot. There is something purely magical about the smells of spices cooking up. YUM!!!

Skinnylou ~ How do I find it?

The weather is beautiful today...back in the 80's. I am thinking about doing some yard stuff. I'm soooo lazy, though. Maybe I will hang the hammock and lie there contemplating what I should be doing. Yeah...I like that idea better!

Is anyone else having any problem trying to click on a person's profile off of the Member List page? Everytime I try, it freezes up my computer. Been doing it for 3 days.

~Deb

ROFLMAO!!!!! Thanks for the chuckle here in my office while I pine for the outdoors...
My daughter (3 1/2) is also enchanted with cemeteries, last time we passed one she wanted to go play in it. Hmmmmmmmmmm.....

Deb, I don't have trouble pulling up profiles off the member's list page...
Speaking of cooking, tonight is a great nite for a BAR BEE QQQQ here in NY now that it's lighter out and temp will be up to 70! Whoo hooo!

Now, *rubbing hands together devilishly* to plan my escape from this office....

cemetaries...

That is a good one Tricia... from about age 3, my daughter would get so excited about cemetaries... she would spy one and hollar out:
