Funny that you mention "The Mitten" - I read that with my Kindergarten class today, and then we acted it out several times!

Mil,
Queen of the Forrest DID come from Wizard of Oz!!! In my last version, the Cowardly Lion was played by a young lady who made the character all her own..........she was adorable in her Lion Queen costume, and when she sang, she sang "If I were Queen of the Forest!"
She wore a knee length reddish brown bunny fur coat that they got at Good Will for $19.....she had a tiara on........her hair was done way up like the 80's (BIG HAIR days).....she had giant hoop earrings on.......and she had on lion slippers that were so big she could hardly walk......be she sure stopped the show!

I think we need coffee cake, don't you???

I like my coffee strong, with honey and half and half!

Hugs,
Sal

hmmmm, honey in coffee....never tried that.
Mine's gotta be french roast, straight from the beans to my little grinder, with half&half and one equal... nice and STRONG....

Sally - I wrote a college entrance essay on the Cowardly Lion... I don't quite know what I said, actually, something about me loving that part and sort of an analysis of the lion as being so much braver than he thought...I related it to me....You've got that song King of the Forrest in my head now! Not Queen, Not Duke, Not Prince.... something something Chintz....

This tiger will take her's strong with a little cream - no sugar plase - wouldn't want to ruin my bitter disposition

Love it! What a pic...I'm going to have to scan a pic of me at 17 in my full length glittery robe and grapevine crown being Oberon, King of the Fairies (LOVE when chicks get to have the cool guy parts)

Talking

LL,
I love dandelion tea!

I've also been drinking quite a lot of soy milk.....two glasses a day....chocolate flavored. I replaced my evening chocolate milk with the soy milk because my Dr. recommended it for perimenopausal symptoms and I find it to work! Plus, I love the way it tastes!!

Hugs,
Sal

Hi All ~ Nothing really to say.
Just wanted to say Hi. Plus for some reason I cannot use the "Subscribe to this thread" feature. I have to post if I want to follow a thread. Is anyone else having that problem. If you go to "thread tools" and then click "subscribe to this thread"? I get a notice that I can't access the page. Just started being a problem 1/27. Then it stopped being a problem later that day. But four days later it started being a problem again. Very weird.

No, it's not allowed.

Smile Found!

WOWEE ! the lost Lion has found her way home ! Thanks Sally and Mary for helping me. Sometimes you just gotta' draw pictures for us "elder" folk to understand - now I can say that about myself I guess. . .lol

It's good to be back with my family. This is just such a unique, awesome bunch of posters!

Now to other matters, a new name for T. Hmmmm. I pondered whether to suggest this or not, but you all know what a romantic I am so if this sounds corny, just chalk it up to - to - to -ME.
You are starting out on a new journey and I like the name " SoaringWings " You are going to soar to heights you never have reached before on the wings of Hope and Faith and Love. See, I told you I was a romantic.

Thank you for getting together and for creating a home for us to come.
Hugs to Everyone

Carol
