Sally, I'm definitely ready for a party. Pizza sounds great- as far as the drink goes I could use a Long Island ice tea which tells me I should stick to diet coke or pepsi!

Looks like a small party so far! I usually say anything but anchovies on my pizza. How about a Pizza Hut cheese lovers pan pizza (maybe half veggie lovers!)

Mil ~ I feel terrific, actually...thanks for asking! The year of treatments wasn't a walk in the park, but it's a funny thing...I didn't realize how rotten I felt until it was over I felt really good again. Guess I had adapted pretty well, but I tried (with a lot of help) to keep a positive outlook. LOL!

kakuehl ~ Ah! The veggie lover's is a great pizza! I'm bad, though...I like to add bacon to it. Also like the Pizza Hut bbq pizza with pineapple.

Sure is good to see some of the old crowd checking in. We've walked a good leg of this wild journey together, so it is comforting to touch base from time to time.

Jennifer is still not interested in contact, but I was able to send her the first birthday wish ever through the magic of myspace. No, there was no response, but I take heart in the fact that she did get the message and didn't set her page to "private" afterwards. Even though this may well be as far as it goes, I am content with it. At least I have the peace of knowing that she got my message. That's worth plenty.

Hope to hear from Sandy and LeeAnn...it's been ages.

Hi All, Isn't cyberspace a wonderful tool for communication? How did we ever exist before computers? If I remember correctly, the Postal Service was faster & cheaper than today! So, we're planning a pizza party? I'll bring a great chicken pizza with some hot peppers from "Venice Pizza", a family run place here. Yuuuummmmmm! I'll share too!

Ok, I'm off to get the monthly dye job on my hair. Every time I'm booked for this, I think..."I should see what my real colour is!" Too chicken, I think. I can see those grey roots & think of the instant ageing that would bring on. Any thoughts on this???

Deb.... So happy to hear that YOU were able to send J a "Birthday wish", FINALLY. Hopefully a "first" of many more to come. One baby step at a time.....Funny how it heightens out excitement but yet gives us such inner Peace with little "discoveries". Yes, the internet is a wonderful "tool".

LL..... That's why I am now a "blond". Blends well with the grey....hehe. I actually love the mixed shades in the back of my hair, but the white at the front make me "feel old"..... (and I have had it since I was in my very early 30's)

hello all...

katnap.. the news is not good on my niece. she is currently in juvenile detention. Probably will be until she's eighteen. I don't know a whole lot, as my sister (her guardian) does not speak to me.... it has been excruciating to be cut out of my nieces life.... however, i suspect it is a blessing in disguise... as my niece is very troubled....

my relinquished daughter has also cut us out of her life... she hasn't spoken to me since she went to visit my sister... strange coincidence there....

but that is a long story, that i really don't wish to retell...

as for the rest of us, we are doing great.... my husband and I are meeting with an adoption agency next week... and hope to get everything started with adopting a baby boy....

my oldest daughter is simply phenomenal... she is quite an extraordinary young lady .... she is excelling academically, probably ranked in the top ten in her graduating class... she tutors the others kids... and advocates for students rights.... she is only going to high school half days, and taking two college courses in the evening.... she is currently planning on pursuing pre-vet studies in college....she has a steady boyfriend, and a job on top of it all.... Oh, and I almost forgot... her main extracurricular activity is rodeo... it's so cool... she's asking for her own horse now... as we already have 14 other pets (1 snake, 2 rabbits, 4 fish, 2 hamsters, 1 giant black african millipede, 1 cat, 1 dog, and 2 gecko lizards) I don't mind adding a horse to the list... but we are going to wait til we move .... as you can tell, i am soo proud of her!!

my second grader continues to delight my heart.... she is highly creative and i just love her paintings, sculptures, etc. even though we let her lego creations stay up for weeks at a time, she still cringes every time i take them apart and put them away... she is a huge animal lover... constantly catching lizards, crickets and bugs.... our latest catch was a snake... we kept in the garage in one of her pet homes, until it disappeared.... I kind of brace myself everytime i go into the garage now.... She is a gifted student and loves to read... she is at the top of her class in math, and will soon be learning multiplication!! (And she's really excited about that!) She just finished soccer and will probably be swimming and ice skating for the winter.

And then my baby.... she is in kindergarten... she just announced the other day that she always wants to be the baby of the family.... i assured her she will always be the baby GIRL... like her sisters, she is a gifted student... her teacher is always amazed by her... when the kids were describing themselves, with statements like "I am a tennis player"... "I am a trampoline jumper"... my little darling said "I am an imaginer".... totally cool. She just finished soccer, and wants to play for the winter season, too... then t-ball in the spring... she still loves princess things... and pink... but is expanding to white, blue and purple.... I teach art in her classroom, and she loves sitting by me... and having me come volunteer....

probably more of an update than you wanted... lol... but i really do adore my girls... i read a thread here about how much fun it is to raise girls... and i can't agree more.... each one of my (raised) girls is such an incredible gift and blessing to me.... i am so proud of them.... they are just neat kids! and i think what i enjoy the most about them, is that they all seem to like ME.... lol... we have so much fun laughing together... and hanging out together... today we are going to a parade... it's for the day of the dead.... and i know we will have a blast!!

i think, in all honesty, if things were okay with the relinquished daughter, my life would be perfect.... oh well, i guess life just isn't perfect....
