Hi TwinSis! Glad you are having a good start to summer! We just got back from a Florida vacation, and it was a total blast. We visited SeaWorld, Disney, and Busch Gardens. The kids had lots of fun, and everyone seems really happy to be home!
Hi Everybody!!!

Hi, back atcha, Proxy!!
I am doing the usual summer stuff.........cutting way too much grass and trying to spend as much time as I can with my God Daughter, now that she's survived the first year of full time school! I also got approval at the church to start our new drama ministry, which I named "The Potter's Hand Drama Ministry". Lots of plans to make, skits to write, and recruiting to do, so that's taking up some enjoyable time!! I am doing a Bible Study class on Sunday evenings, which is fun!! It's called CSI -- Christian Students Investigate!! We are studying obscure people in the Bible, like Rahab and Potipher's Wife, and how their decisions effected the outcome of many important events in history. My dad had heart surgery last week, but he's fine and dandy now! He had some nerves that were misfiring on his heart muscles that were causing his heart to beat too fast -- but they went in with a laser and destroyed them, and now he's fit as a fiddle and ready to go!! I am going over to his house tomorrow to learn how to make freezer slaw!! My new stepmom is REALLY good at putting up vegetables for winter, and I am excited to learn how to make some yummy slaw from the fresh cabbage that Dad has grown out here on the farm. She showed me how to freeze tomatoes last year and we LOVED having them for soups, chili, gumbo and spaghetti last winter!! She's a real peach! I just love her to pieces!! Hope everyone else is having a wonderful summer! Check in if you have time!! Hugs, Sally

It's been a LONG time since I was last on the forum, but things were a bit crazy for a while. Quick update, we are hoping that our first f2f will be in a couple weeks!!!!!!!! We are finally in our house(hoping to possibly be able to buy it in a couple years as the neighborhood is awesome) and the plan is for the last week of July to finally meet "C" in person! Contact was sporatic this last year, but that's understandable with her being a senior in hs. Then, with their traveling and our transfer, contact was none. I'm still waiting for either an email or our first phone call! I will try to keep more updates now that things will hopefully be moving along! Oh, and "C" will be going to a college that's just a day's drive away from us! I hope that everyone who does remember me have been doing well. I will try, at some time, to figure out where I last logged on and catch up with everyone.
Love to all, Tigger4jdt |

Hi Tigger! Wow, Summer is flying by all of us! My kids are in their 3rd week of summer day camp already, and I have only 2 weeks of summer school left to teach. Things are fairly quiet here, just trying to stay cool.
Everybody's doing well. We took Jim, Eric and Kristen to Florida for a fun vacation the 3rd week in June, it was a blast! I have had enough of theme parks for now, though! You must be so excited! I'm glad that "C" is doing well and is going to college not too far away. I will be thinking of all of you and praying that everything keeps moving forward so nicely! Okay, chickies, check in! ![]()

Pop!!
Tell me it isn't really the end of July!! I hope everyone is doing well. I am not too busy at the moment, struggling with a frozen left shoulder, and working things out for heading back to work, hopefully to the same school I have been at. All the kiddos are great, my husband Ken is doing great. Things are for the most part just going along, and that works for me! Even my dog is doing great! A few weeks back she was pretty sick with some kind of doggy flu, she had to take meds and everything, and now she's her old old self! I miss you guys!! ![]()

Thus far, things here are great, really.
We have a new "doggy" who is sort of a guest, I suppose you would call it. I want him to stay, but the spousal unit isn't too thrilled with the idea. Some IDIOT who lives a couple of roads over decided to just walk away from his life.....his house, his responsibilities, etc -- and that meant his dog, too. The poor thing just kept coming around, and at first, we thought he was just wandering off, but after a couple of weeks, it was plain to see he hadn't eaten.....he was skin and bones!!! The two houses on either side of me, and I, started to feed him because we couldn't stand watching him starve, and now, he's taken up residence on my back porch. My two dogs love him..........the kids next door love him.......and I don't see why he just can't stay. Everyone is taking care of him and he is happy as a clam!! I was calling him "Smiley" because he has this HUGE grin on his face all the time......the kids named him "Jack" because all the letters of their first names spell Jack if you put them all together......and his real name is Dakota -- so his "formal" name is Smilin' Dakota Jack -- Jack for short! He comes to Jack....I think he would prefer to forget his old life! You could tell by his actions when he first came around that the guy used to beat him (as he did his wife and kids, which is why he left in the first place! She filed for divorce and hauled the kids out of there.......and he can't afford things, I guess). What a LOSER! At any rate, Jack is a German Shepherd with those ears that stand straight up all the time, and he has the most kind face you could ever see!! If it wasn't sacreligious, I would have named him Jesus because that's the kind of eyes he has........filled with love and kindness and compassion. I hope he gets to stay...........I think my husband is sort of warming up to him. He just doesn't want a third dog, but this guy is an outside kinda guy -- and we will work something out by the time winter rolls around. Say a prayer for Jack, if you have a chance! He could always choose to go on down the road on his own.........which is fine, if that's what he wants to do......but I'd like him to have a home here, if that's what he chooses. It's almost time for fall theatre.....just a couple of weeks. We are doing "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" this time around --- if you haven't seen the movie or read the book, you need to!!! It's HYSTERICAL! It's about six really rotten kids who decide they need to go to church because they hear there are free refreshments served!! They end up bullying their way into the annual Christmas pageant, even tho they've never even heard the Christmas story before......the whole town is in an uproar over it......but in the end, everything turns out wonderfully! I am also working on my drama ministry at the church.....writing a Christmas play to go with some music that the music ministries pastor picked out for the choir.......and also planning a big thing for October...... So I am pretty busy, to say the least. I have been thinking a lot about Roxanne lately......I stopped by our father's grave today on my way to the farmer's market, and thought how sad it is that she is "out there" but I just can't seem to get to her! Maybe I will do something a little more drastic in the coming weeks just to shake things up a little......we'll see! Alrighty -- the hubster will be home any minute, so I had better check on dinner!! Chat with you all soon! Hugs, Sally

Just a quickie here. "C" is still with us right now. I will have to give a full accounting when I have more time, but it was so good to finally have her in my arms again, and I even got hugs from Amom and Adad!!!! The Amom and Adad still have yet to meet hubby, since he was at work when they got here and they left before he got home. That will happen on Sat when they come to pick "C" up. For now, "C" fits right in with all the kids, and gives as good as she gets, even for her tiny frame! ("little" bro is nearly 6 foot, "little" sis #1 is 5'4", and baby sis is around 4 foot, "C" is 5'3") We've looked at many pictures, some videos and just hung out together. Went to the beach yesterday, and maybe today. It's just been a great time!
Love to all, and like I said, I'll give a full accounting when I have more time! Tigger |

Hi to all of you! Summer's slowly coming to an end! I hope all of you are doing as best as you can. My babies' first birthday is just around the corner. I can't believe it's been almost a full year that I first and last saw my dear precious son! His twin is doing wonderfully and growing beautifully TG. It's been a very rough, tough and trying year for us, but hopefully we will get through it.
I hope this thread will pick up now that schools are not far from starting, which usually means routine. |

Hi Everybody!
Hi TwinSis, I'm glad to see you making it through this year so well. You sound better, IMHO, and I'm sure, certain in fact, that everything is just as challenging as it was almost one year ago. I'll keep praying for you, and thinking good thoughts. It's great to see you posting, and I'm so happy that you've stuck with us this year. I know it's been really quiet here, I think it is everyone's busy summer. Also, I stopped getting email notifications! I'm glad that I hopped on here tonight! I wish I had been here yesterday to reply to you. Hugs to you! Hi Tigger! Is it surreal to have her right there, or have you all fallen into it already? So awesome! We have still got to get family movies out for Jim to see, although Eric is slightly embarrassed about that! You must be having a blast! I hope everyone is doing well. I miss you guys!!

Wow! A lot has happened with everyone since I was here last. I do think of you all often and vow to stop in more to touch base and see how things are going.
Summer is coming to a close quickly. Miracle (knock on wood) that Florida has so far survived the storm season. Had a super great vacation...really good summer. Whose around these days? Hugs ~ Deb |
