Hi D.

I am feeling better - thanks for the thoughts.
Guess it was just one of those days. But had a good supper of roast pork (1 small slice), mashed potatoes(small portion), frozen corn (NO BUTTER -almost "killed" me), and 2 glasses of water. Oh yeah - spoon full of cranberry sauce.
It's now 8pm, and I think I can make it until bedtime with only an apple in sight.

I think it's great that you are adopting !! I am a birthmom, and I am so grateful for the two "marvels" who adopted my son 39 years ago (recently reunited with him). God Bless You & your hubby, and PLEASE give him some "real" food !!

The butter issue

It's a little pricey, but if you are a butter person, they make a butter substitute spray called Smart Balance that has 0 calories and 0 fat.
It's actually quite tasty and it satisfies the butter urge. Now if only they'd make something that satisfies my spaghettios urge.

Good morning!

Today's menu:

Morning star sausages
skim milk

taco salad (I didn't eat my tortilla yesterday)

heuvos rancheros
corn
salad

Popcorn.

When I make my popcorn (airpopped in the microwave) I spray I can't believe it's not butter spray and sprinkle Molly McButter --it's yummy.

I use the I can't believe it's not butter lite for margarine -- a tablespoon has as many calories as a teaspoon of butter. It's a reasonable substitute I think.

Well, it's day four for me and I have done some sort of butt moving each day. I did an abs tape on days one and four, a cardio tape on day two and rode a stationary bicycle on day 3. Yippee! I actually really like the abs tape (and it was only $1 at Target). It doesn't hurt my back and I can feel it in my stomach. The cardio tape might be fun, but right now it is kind of complicated so I spend half the time standing still with my jaw on the floor thinking "Huh?" It has a lot of dance moves and I am not a dancer. Not yet, anyways!

The food part has been going okay. In the last four days I haven't said "Ooooh. I am so full I want to puke." so that is a definate improvement.

I haven't weighed myself yet so we will see how the numbers are looking on Friday.

Congrats to everyone for making it through the weekend.

Lynn

Where is everyone?

Sort of a bummer of a day. I weighed in and was UP .4 lb. I'm not panicking though. I know this program works and I know I've been following it. The problem is that when I'm as close to my lower weight as this, I lose verry slowly. So slowly that heavier clothes or um, not having used the bathroom, can make the difference between a loss and a gain.

So, I will add in weight lifting this week, which will help rev my metabolism. If I still don't lose next week, I'll start being extra careful in my measuring. I've been eyeballing it, but maybe my eyes got bigger.

It's so silly, because I know I've ingested waaay fewer calories in the past week than I had been doing, so it's not possible for me to have really gained.

WOW I think everyone seems to be doing great..
My phone lines have been down now, since Monday so I couldn't post...
But I think I am still doing ok... I am still in Ketois, still haven't moved into the dark purples yet. Hopefully by the end of the week...
And as far as the losing the weight thing, I know that it is water weight, but it is still weight to me.. At least I can see that there is something going on to help keep me motivated.

Ok so who on here has done Atkins before? I have a question...

BBL,
Gina

Hi
I was just wondering where everyone was too !!
Thought maybe we had all "abandoned ship" or something.
I had a bad day Monday, (had the "blahs", so used it as an excuse
Am back on track now though. Just left a big shopping day at Walmart, was starving when I got to the car, had to make a decision between a peach or a candy bar - picked the peach !!!!!
Wasn't "satisfied", but was proud of myself.

I haven't been walking as much as I'd like to due to the ice we've had the past few days (I LOATHE the treadmill ), but hopefully will be able to walk tomorrow. Weather supposed to be good.
Then back to bad weather Friday,so no choice but to walk on "the thing" !!

Good to see some are still here. Please let's keep it going. Don't know about you all, but I need all the encouragement I can get.

Sorry Gina - I don't do the Atkins, but there is someone here who does, can't remember who.

OK, guys...I'm finally checking in! I'm weighing in tonight for the first time so wish me luck. The Chinese takeout may come back to haunt me!

Gina~ I did Atkins before, maybe I can help?

I'll check back in later to give my results...I may need some moral support!!

Talking

I need to brag a bit. Even after "falling off the wagon" a bit on Monday I weighed in today and lost 1.6 pounds! I am so pleased because I thought I had gained. 130...here I come! I found this excellent weight watchers slow cook black bean soup on their website that EVERYONE in my family loved. Let me tell you this really means something in my house. It's only 2 points per serving and since I can have only 22 points a day it's a pretty low point meal. I'll post the recipe tomorrow if anyone is interested. Keep up the good work everyone!!

Happy Birthday tomorrow Gina! I'm sure even if you give into your cravings just once (or twice even!) you'll still have the best week! My birthday was Monday, wasn't the best diet day but it turned out to be a terrific week. Good luck and have a great Gina day!

Happy birthday Gina- is it today or tomorrow ??

Either way, hope you have a great one.
Go ahead and "indulge" a little, just don't "splurge".
After all, birthdays are only once a year (thank goodness!!
I was down in the dumps this past monday if you read my post, and everyone here got me through. I did go off a little bit, but got back on Tuesday. I'm sure the waiting is awful, but try the "chin up- mouth closed" technique.

kmedsker -Good job !!! If youget a chance, I would love to have the recipe for the soup. I don't do WW, but look for any recipes that sound good as well as are good. Keep up the good work.

My "exercise" has been off lately because I usually walk, and it has been horrid here . But yesterday was beautiful, and I walked with my friend our usual 3 miles through the forest. (Still alot of snow out there, and ice, so it was an extra challenge for the "footing". Felt great to be out again, but today snow again, so will have to walk on "the thing"
My legs hurt a little today, so I KNOW I have to do it.
Can't believe I lost that much muscle tone in just over a week. HAVE TO HAVE TO HAVE TO !!!!

Everybody please stay here ! Need all of you !
janie
