OK, Free and Janie!!!!!!!!!! Get back to the program!!!! No more milkshakes and oreos!!!!!!!! Have you heard of the Pudge brownies? (i think that is the name) They are good and recommended by weight watchers. Try that instead to get your fix.

I'm proud of myself today. I did 30 minutes of Yoga!!! HOORAY! My muscles feel so good, i needed the stretch so i can go for some more long walks .

Come on everyone!!!!!!!! We can do it !!!!!!!!!!

Don't beat yourself up too bad on the "Oreo incident"
It's over and done with, so just focus on from here on! We all make mistakes......From now on.........no oreos in the house!!!!!!!!!!
I have a hard time if I keep my "favorites" around. I have a husband and 14 year old son with super high metabolisms. They can eat whatever they want and never gain a pound. I can put weight on just WATCHING them eat. My trick? When I go grocery shopping, I try to buy them goodies that I don't really care for.........
So.......Saturday marked my 2nd week at the gym. I was so psyched. Lost 3 lbs the 1st week, and 3 more pounds this past week. Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice work Krielly! 6 pounds is awesome!

I have done a really good job eating today so far. I had leftovers for breakfast (and when I got full, I fed the leftover leftovers to the dog!) a small sandwich for lunch and some chips (not too many) and lots of salsa for a snack. It is after 7:00 and I plan to eat supper in an hour or two. I have some yummy veggies to steam and I don't know what else I will have.

I also walked 2 miles today so I am only 1/2 a mile behind my goal. I should be able to make that up easily enough tomorrow. Maybe a two mile ski? We'll see.

Hi Ladies,

Great job on the 6 lbs. Krielly! Unfortunately I didn't lose any lbs. this week. My husband and I went to an Adoption conference and I ate way to much and it wasn't healthy food either. LOL Oh well, I'm back on track now and hopefully I'll lose this week.

Hi Everyone, It's the newbie to this thread. Love to read about how good everyone else is doing. Anyway just an update.

Today was officially the unofficial weigh-in day. Kind of proud dropped a couple of #'s. Which is good since I had banna split overloads at work this weekend.

I'm back into the swing of watching what I eat again and that small drop is giving me the courage to continue. Good luck everyone and don't give up

Congrats Twee on the loss. It feels good, doesn't it?

Things here are going okay. I overate yesterday...mozzarella sticks. I ate a really healthy dinner though. Baked chicken, steamed veggies and boiled potatoes-no sour cream!

Unfortunately, I did something to my shoulder. I can barely move it. So, no skiing today, for sure. I am going to try to get a walk in, though.

Stacy, Im sure you'll get back on track !

Twee, great job losing a few!!!

Free , I hope your shoulder gets better!!! It's hard to have a little setback when you are in a groove! My knee has been bothering me from walking. Feeling a bit better now but it set me back a little. Hope it gets better fast. Stretch, ice, mineral ice, muscle stim if you have a portable unit. Feel better!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Ladies!!!

Things have been so crazy here the past two weeks! I'm gonna have to go back and get updated on all of the posts that i missed, but I hope you're all doing well! My finacee's grandpa is very very sick, so we've been in and out of town and sooo busy. Fortunately, we've been able to stick to our diets fairly well.

This was a bad week for me (i gained .4 lb), but overall we are doing well. I'm down to 189.8 ( it makes me so mad to have to type that because last weigh-in I was at 189.4 and excited about it), and my fiancee is down to 212.8. That's right! He's lost 18.4lbs in 4 weeks and I've only lost 8.2lbs. I'm so frustrated because I'm proud of him for doing so well, but mad at me for not beating him!!!

Well, we decided to make a bet. Whoever loses 20lbs (starting from the weight we're at now) first gets a treat. My treat is a massage at the spa and a nice romantic dinner, and his treat is some silly video game. ( I wasn't paying attention to which one he wants because I don't intend to let him win! ).

We went back to working out this past Monday. He definitely let me sleep in this morning, so we didn't workout today, but the New York City Ballet Workout DVD is next on my to do list. That is of course right after I get updated on everyone else's progress! Stay strong everyone...WE CAN DO IT!

Megan,

Don't get discouraged that he has lost more than you. Men in general have a higher metabolism, and that's just how it is
Don't know what you are doing at the gym, but free weights work incredibly well. The more muscle you have, the higher resting metabolism you have.

Keep up the good work!!!!!!!

Karen

Well, it looks like I might be going on a ski trip in a couple days. If my shoulder is feeling good enough, I will be joining three friends and skiing to a remote hot spring, spending the night and then skiing back. The ski is 8 miles from the road each way. I think it will be a blast and some serious exercise. I sure hope I can go. Until then, I am trying to take it a little easy for my shoulder. It is still a little sore, but not as bad as the other day.

Ok everyone.

I need some help... I need to find a way to say no to the food at work. After banna split overload last weekend. We had a birthday party for a new girl. Once again cake, ice cream, mexican food, chips and hot sauce. Ahhhhhh! How am I ever going to lose weight like that. And the really bad part is that now that we've increased our team members we will probably be celebrating more often. We work nights, so its not like we can go for a walk to get a way. It like you eat what you bring or you go without. Ok!! Ok!! I know what your thinking (I think)? I do bring good food but when everyone else is eating stuff, I want to munch with them. Suggestions anyone?????

Thanks in advance

Krielly: Thanks for the encouragement! I know I'm being silly and concentrating on his progress when I should be concentrating on my own. I've really been feeling like I need to change my attitude about everything these past few days. My workout usually consists of a 15 minute warm-up, 30-40 minutes of lifting, 15 minutes of stretching, then 30-45 minutes of cardio. And you are TOTALLY right about the free weights! (they're my favorite part!)

Free: I hope your shoulder feels better!!!! That trip sounds like so much fun! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

TWEE: I feel your pain! At law school, anytime anyone wants students to come to a meeting or to sit for a lecture, they offer free pizza and candy. And i'm an evening student, so there's no getting away from it. But I think that you have several options.

We had some super yummy food at work one day, and I was eating (even though I was not hungry at all!), and I remember asking my boss if he wanted me to grab him some food. The first thing I try to do when I want to eat something that I know I shouldn't is to remember what he said to me, "I want it, but I don't need it". So try asking yourself when you're faced with the bad stuff if you really need it. This doesn't always work, but sometimes thinking this way stops me in my tracks!

You could always just munch on the healthier options that you bring. Then you can still participate in the activity without doing any damage to your diet. This option of course is SO much easier said than done.

OR you could just have a little bit of the food you crave. Have a piece of cake, but make it a tiny piece and eat slowly so you can really enjoy it. And don't feel guilty about it either! If you know that there will be a party at work in the evening, just make sure that you make really light, healthy choices throughout that day, so you'll have the extra calories to spend at work, and just don't overdo it.

And if you do happen to eat more than you should or would have liked to, don't beat yourself up about it. You can always spend the entire next day or two making super healthy choices to sort of balance everything out. You can't change the past, but you can always make positive steps forward.

GOOD LUCK, STAY STRONG!!!

Hi all,

Today was weigh in day so I just wanted to let you all know how I did. I lost 5.2 lbs, which makes a total of 38.4 lbs.!

I went shopping for some new pants and I didn't have to shop in the plus sizes rack, i bought regular sized pants!!!!!!
