Last night's dinner was ham salad sandwiches and tomato soup. Not a really "balanced" meal, but the bread was whole wheat !

Actually, I have been doing better this week. No munching before bed ( which for me is a BIG deal ! ).
Still not exercising much, been busy working alot. Had some nice weather too. No excuses. Just LAZY .

Great job Stacy !

Free- you still skiing and walking ??????

Ha ha ha ha ha!!!! You're killin me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was really craving some Pepperidge FArm cheddar cheese goldfish when I got home from the gym last night. So.........I knew they'd involve some unnecessary calories, so I balanced my dinner out between that and 1/2 cup non-fat cottage cheese..........

Nuts or what????????????????????????????????

Hey everyone. Sorry it has been a while. My boyfriend has been gone for the last week so my schedule has been a bit off and I realized I have been neglecting you all!

Things are going okay. I have been working a lot and eating okay, but not exercising enough. I got back with it today, though and went for a two mile ski. I am pooped now. It was really a great workout.

Toria-my dog, Loki (he is named after the Norse trickster god) has a kind of funny story. My friend Ed got Loki as a puppy. After about five years, Ed got a job that required him to travel a lot. So, every time Ed went out of town, he asked me and my guy to dogsit. He was gone a week or two each month. After about 6 or 8 months of this, Ed changed jobs. Then, one day I woke up, went outside and Loki was on my front steps. I thought it was weird that Ed didn't let the dog in (our door was unlocked) but I just figured Ed went out of town again so I just hung out with the dog all day-playing with sticks, going for rides... At about 6:00 that night, I noticed the dog looked hungry so I went out to get his food and dishes. His stuff wasn't on the steps, which I also thought was weird, but I had a little bit of dogfood (because the dog visited so often) so I fed him that. Then, at about 10:00pm, Ed called. I told him that I thought he had gone out of town and he replied "I was going to, but my dog ran away." The dog had run 6 miles, crossed several big roads and found my cabin (I had just moved and the dog had only been there twice) in the space of 45 minutes.

I brought Loki home a couple days later, and then, two or three days after that, he showed up at our house again. After that, he was staying at our house 3 or 4 days a week.

When I was on my trip in January, Loki stayed home, for the most part, but he came back to my place as soon as I got back. So, Loki has been at my house for the last two months. He occasionally will run away from us and go visit Ed. Ed has since moved much closer to me and is only a 3/4 mile run through the woods, so I don't worry too much when Loki runs over there.

So, anyways, it appears that I now have a dog. I love the dog and work really hard to not let him run away, but every once in a while it happens and when it does, he usually heads straight to Ed's house, then comes back a couple hours later.

I think Ed is a little bummed that his dog likes me and my guy better than him, but what can you do? (I'm more fun!)

Now..........if we all took lessons from Loki, ran 6 miles in 45 minutes here and there........this diet support group would be pretty much non-existant now wouldn't it??????????

Hi everyone, just found your thread. I'd like to join your efforts. I am just a little overweight (ha ha more like majorly overweight) . Lets just say that to be within the medical chart guidelines I'd have to lose a little more than half of me. When I look at the amout to lose it gets a little overwhelming. So I'd appreciate any support you give. By the way I just started on a combo of Adkins/South Beach. By that I mean I'm switching to reducing unhealthy carbs. adding fruit and vegies to the once almost exclusinve Stoffers frozen food , Pizza delivery, Patio burritos and any fast food drive through diet. By the way don't try that one unless your trying to gain weight. Thank goodness South Beach has made a frozen dinner that I can eat and fill full on. Some of the other "good for you to eat frozen dinners" leives me starving in an hours when I eat them. Any way I weighed this past tuesday. Let you know how I do next tuesday. That's my officially unofficial weight in day. Good luck to everyone.

Well, I don't own a single diet book...I actually haven't even heard about Dr. Phil's. Hmmm...does that mean I'm not taking this seriously enough?

Twee-Welcome! I hope you find some good help here. I know it has been really good to have the support and the little "birdie" on my shoulder when I need to make food and exercise decisions.

So everyone, speaking of food decisions...a friend and I have made the very wise decision to have an alfredo sauce cookoff. You are all invited (but if you care about your cholesterol level you will stay out of this time zone!) Now, I know it is really dumb to put myself through this much temptation, but I used to make alfredo sauce about once a month...and eat it! I have only made it once in the past year, so I figure it is okay. We are also inviting lots of friends over so maybe there won't be too much as far as leftovers are concerned. My plan for the day is to be very very careful about what I eat before the big meal and try to get some good exercise in to try to offset the huge intake.

Today, I did get a nice two mile walk in. The weather feels like it is starting to change here. That is good...

Hope you all are doing well.

It's 20 degrees out (warm for here) but I just don't want to go for a walk. I want to eat milkshakes! I'm struggling right now. I have started to make a deal with myself that if I go for a walk, I get to eat the shake...

How is everyone else doing?

Ii am awful today. Ate a half a bag of oreos !!! And still have a whole evening to go !!!!!! Just one of those days. Cold, snowy, yucky. Mood to match.
I have not lost one pound in two weeks. I am totally frustrated !!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully, the sun will shine tomorrow, and I will move my butt. I KNOW I can do it. I did it before. I WANT to fit into the new clothes I bought for LAST summer.

What can we do to get back on track ????
