Well, my food consumption was through the roof yesterday...I "accidentally" made deviled eggs. The devil made me do it! It started out as hard boiled eggs to put on my salad. Then I ate them all. I don't know what was going on. They tasted really good though.

Good news is that in addition to my 18 minutes of speedwalking yesterday, I rode the stupid stationary bike so long I might have broken it. I had the tv on in front of me and rode for 30-40 minutes. At one point it was making horrible clunking sounds, but then they stopped. I was kind of hoping it would break... I must say that my legs are feeling great. I think there is some muscle in there! I like muscles!

Hey Free
Naughty naughty naughty on those eggs !!!!
But good good good on that bike. So did it break, or haven't you gotten back on ??
I must admit, I have not walked on "the thing" for 2 days now. I just couldn't get moving today. It snowed all day, and I basically just watched it pile up outside the window. It's really pretty out, but really cold too.
Now the wind is howling, and the snow drifts are piling up. Not an excuse, and not something YOU really want to hear living where you do. I'm sure you could tell us all something about snow, huh ??

Where is everybody anyway?? I had a really lousy day today, not so much food-wise, just another one of those "who gives a ****" days. I didn't feel like eating breakfast or lunch, so I didn't. Had ham and cabbage for supper, good cold weather comfort food.
Didn't overeat, but now I am hungry already again.
So I'll probably snack all evening. Will try to eat only fruit, but with my mindset I doubt that will work.

ALAS =a new day dawns tomorrow. I will try harder to eat "sensible", and get on the thing.
I WILL l move move move my butt butt butt !!(tomorrow )

Hope the others are still with us !!

The bike didn't break...darn it! I rode for 15 minutes yesterday after doing my ab video. That means it was 45 whole minutes of exercise! That is great for me because I count anything between 22 and 30 minutes as "good enough." My new plan is that on the weeks I work, I will work out for at least 30 minutes EVERY day. On the week that I have off, I will work out for at least 30 minutes every OTHER day. That is something that I should be able to maintain without it being too rough.

Janie-Sorry about your rough day. It is allowed once in a while, so enjoy? having a blah day, but jump back up tomorrow. Remind yourself of your goals and what you plan to accomplish. You can do it.

I don't know where everyone else is either...but I'm here.

I'm here too! I felt sick last night so I went to bed about 8PM. Whle I was laying there I realized that I ate nothing but sugar and junk food all day. No wonder I was sick! I was coming down from a major sugar high and I haven't been eating that stuff. I gave blood in the morning, ate a donut. TOok the kids to the movies, ate candy and popcorn through the whole movie. Took the kids to Krispy Kreme afterwards, pigged out on...donuts! Yummy sugar! I did start the day yesterday with a great pilates DVD. I'm loving the new muscles too! No workout today....Sunday is my day off. But back to the club early in the morning and the stair stepper machine.
Great work Janie and free-to-be-me!
Kayla

Hi guys

Well - I hopped back on the wagon today.
Ate pretty good, but got really bummed out after the Steeler football game (they lost big time !!)
Wanted to eat everything in the fridge, but I chose an orange instead.

Going to bed now before I change my mind. Didn't walk today, must get on "the thing" tomorrow. But today was better than yesterday, and with a new week coming, I think I can do better.

Free- wish I could say I was sorry the bike didn't break, but I have the same deal with "the thing".
So I guess we just have to deal with it. Let's hope for an early spring, so we can get outside. That's where I am at my best.

Kayla - I will NOT "scold" you for such a bad day.
But you must promise to try harder tomorrow.
I had my bad day yesterday, and got back on today.

So let's all stay in this together, and hopefully some of the others will "report in".
I think this thread is a nice "diversion" from our usual "deep" ones.

Hey guys !! Mind if I come back? Today is 1 whole week I have been dieting. I get the wayin a little later. I have been really busy after the new year so now that things are slowing down I hope I will have more time to exercise. I do have to say my hubbie made a cheesecake yesterday and i didn't even lick the spoon. THAT was so hard. Anyway off to make some coffee.

Good morning,
The scale has shown a loss both yesterday and today -- we'll see if it holds off for my official weigh-in on Wednesday.

Anyway, it snowed here yesterday so we didn't go out to dinner -- I spent my flex points eating the bialys and fudge I made (but I skipped dinner, so I don't think I went over). Anyway, all the product of my blizzard cooking is here at work for my coworkers to eat. I'm steering clear of the kitchen!

Today's menu:
veggie sausage
milk

left over torta
veggie soup
salad

mexican salad
popcorn

wine?

Happy Monday to everyone! I am back on the wagon today, too! We got up and went to the club. I am a big fan now of that stair stepper machine. I can totally feel a difference in the lower half of my body. THis is probably way to much information but I have NEVER had a firm bootie! Never..... and I can see that happening in my future. I highly recommend everyone try one out! My sister is visiting from Conneticut so my Mom and I didn't go to WW last week. But my pants are feeling better and I am looking forward to weighing in this week. Today, I will journal EVERYTHING I eat. Promise!

Have a great day everyone!
Janie - I can take a good scolding, no worries. That's what friends are for!

Liz - WOW!! You didn't even lick the spoon?? What will power!! I can't be within 5 MILES of cheesecake, so good job !!!

Spay - Congrats on the scale showing a loss. Good job!

Kayla - "shake shake shake that bootie" !!
Maybe that sounds a little more "refined" than our original move move move your butt ???
Nah- the move move move one is more "my style".
I still have too much "bootie" to shake

Great job everyone. I just finished 2 miles on "the thing", and am doing good so far today.
Spaghetti for supper tonite though (craving it). Will try to eat SMALL portion. (No promises though, it's my favorite !!) But NO dessert !!!!

Talk later
Everyone keep up the great work !!!

Where is everyone?

Today:

veggie sausage
toast
milk
fruit

Mexican salad
veggie soup

veggie stew
Salad

(that leaves me with 6 points for a snack--might splurge on a cookie--I want to skip my evening popcorn because I don't want too much in my gut for weigh in tomorrow!)

Gina--are you still planning to join WW? When is the meeting? Definitely stay for the meetings at least in the beginning--they're really helpful and inspiring.

OK - I'll "fess up".

Ate the spaghetti last night for supper, but small portion. Only ate ONE meatball (usually WAY more than that), had salad with low cal dressing, and NO garlic bread.

I put it in my head that since I walked on "the thing", and did so good at supper, I could have "one" home made cookie for my snack before bed. Well- ate three!!
I know, I know, I know !!!!!!

Getting on "the thing" now, will try to do an extra ten minutes as penance.

Supper tonite is baked chicken breast, stuffing (small portion, NO gravy), and cooked carrots.
ABSOLUTELY, POSTIVELY NOOOOO COOKIES !!!!

Spay - good luck with your weigh in tomorrow.
But don't get discouraged if it's not good. We KNOW you are really trying !!

Hey guys, I am still here trudging along.. Slowly but surely!
Yes, Spay, I am going to join WW on Thursday... The only thing is that I have been reading some of the things you eat.. And I don't like hardly any of that... Can you eat what you want? Just portition it out? I am not sure that I really know all that much about WW.. I know that you can buy WW meals at Wal-Mart for like lunch and stuff.. And that it is based on points.. But really that is all that I know...
Tell me more Spay! PPPPPPPLLLLEEEEAAAAASSSSSEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gina

Weight Watchers has two programs, Flex Points and Core

In both programs you get a weekly allotment of 35 points, aka Flex Points.

With the Flex Points program you also get a daily points allowance based on your weight. Because I weigh under 150 lbs, I get 20 points a day. Basically I can eat anything I want during the day as long as I don't exceed the 20 points. Because I have been doing this a long time, I know which foods will keep me satisfied. Most vegetables are 0 points, except for dried beans, corn, and peas. So I fill up on a lot of veggies.

The 35 flex points are like bonus points. I can save them all up and eat them in one day (like going out to dinner) or I can portion them out throughout the week, especially if I find I'm hungry.

You also can earn extra points by exercising.

The Core plan has a list of foods--lean meats, fat free dairy, fruits and vegetables, whole wheat pastas, brown rice, corn meal, potatoes, popcorn--that you don't have to count. You can eat as much of those as you want (except for the pasta, potatoes and rice -- that's limited to one meal a day) until you are satisfied (so don't stuff yourself). You use your 35 flex points for the things that aren't on the list--desserts, butter.

So that's it as far as the food goes--there's a lot of other things to help you think right as well as eat right.

I lose better with the flex plan -- I respond best to structure--and I like being able to eat anything I want--because you truly can. However, there are times when Core works well for me too--especially in the summer when I can get good fruit and not count it.

Today's menu points wise went something like this:

veggie sausage 3
toast 1 (it's whole wheat)
milk (skim-1 point 1/2 cup)
fruit 1

Mexican salad 5
veggie soup 0
small piece of fudge 3
roll 2
lf margarine 1

veggie stew 3
Salad 0

Total 20

yesterday's
veggie sausage 3
milk 1

left over torta 3
veggie soup 0
salad 1 (had some chick peas in it)

mexican salad 5
popcorn 3
martini 4

Total 20

If I'd been doing Core, I think (not sure of all the ingredients) the only thing yesterday I would have had to count was the martini.

Does that help?

You won't see the kinds of huge losses that you might with a diet--but WW isn't really a diet--I use the same techniques to keep off the weight that I did to lose it.

Slow and steady wins the race.

Ok I kinda understand the program.. So since I weigh over 150 lbs. I will not be allowed 20 points.. Gosh I don't know which prgram would be better for me... I think the one that I could eat what I want would be better for me.. How do you know how many points what has? Will they give me a list or something? Will they talk to me about what program will be best for me?

I think (I don't have my materials) that above 150 lbs but under 175, you get 25 points a day.

You will get materials that will help you figure out points (it's based on calories, fiber and fat content). Your Getting Started meeting should help you figure out which plan will work best for you (I think there's a quiz asking about your lifestyle and habits to help you decide). And truthfully, you can switch back and forth (though it's not a good idea to in the same week, I think).
