After owning a digital camera for nearly one year, I finally took the plunge and figured out how to take pictures. For my next step, I learned how to up(down?)load them to the computer.
Now for the questions: Do I save them on those little plug in thingys? (Or a CD?) Have you ever used Snapfish for printing digital photos? Can you recommend another site for prints? Can you crop & edit the digital photos that you upload to a website for printing? Thank you very much!

CD's have much better quality than a floppy...so for crispness and better resolution, I would go with a CD. Quote:
Nope, I've never used them...but I have uploaded my digi's to Walgreen's photo website and ordered prints there...pretty cheap, no shipping...just go to the store and pick them up! Quote:
PictureTrail.com (like snapfish) ofoto.com shutterfly.com There are tons more...even some of your local photo stores might offer something. Also, some places like Osco and WalMart have installed digital photo kiosks in their stores...you just take your media (card from the camera, or the disks you've saved them on) and print them out yourself while you wait. Quote:
Yes and no...yes you can crop/edit the digital photos, but you will need to do it before you upload them in most cases....it really depends on the sight. The Kiosks allow you to do basic editing/resizing/cropping in store... I hope I haven’t made things worse...lol

You can upload to Walmart.com and crop and edit after you upload and then you ahve the option of getting them mailed to you or picking them up at your local wally world.

I print
Actually, I'm still using film, but I get my prints on CD too and print the best at home. I have a color printer that does a very nice job on good quality photo paper.

I always take mine into Walmart to have them printed....from CD....you get them back in an hour AND they are Matte Finished...no fingerprints.... For Walgreens you have to send out for Matte Finish....at least here..... I still like film, too though...I usually take them to Walmart for that too it is one of the only places you can get your pictures AND CD back in an hour!

I'm making progress, but...
One more question -
I like to crop my photos. If I crop them on my computer, then doesn't that change the size of the file? If the size of the file is changed, can I still get good 4 x 6 prints? Can I save files of different sizes and get them all made into photos of the same size & quality (assuming they started off as the same quality)? Thanks for your help!

Hi,
If you are worried about losing your original size/file, then copy your picture (so you have a double in your file), and crop/work on your copied one, that way if you royally mess it up, you still have your original. Good luck! Jen |

Also, just make sure that when you crop it, that it is the same ratio as a 4x6 then you can crop and resize the cropped section back to a 4x6!
