Info for Chinese adoption research project

Here are my specific questions: ***Why did you choose to do an international adoption rather than one within the U.S.? ***How long did the entire process take? 1. we had done research on the different "types" of domestice adoption. Each time we were appalled by the lack of "protection", so to speak, of the adoptive parents. we chose internatioal adoption because of closure - there will be no birth parents seeking/sueing for the rights of their child. There was and abundance of infants. also, not having to deal with the "how open" the adoption had to be to suit the needs of a birth mother. 2. 18 months from begining to end!
