Who else is waiting?
It's a long and difficult wait!
Our LID is April 17, 2007, so we're preparing for another possible two years wait for NSN. Who else is waiting for a referral? Anyone have a LID for mid March or the month of April 2006?

We have a LID of 5/10/06, but were matched with our daughter (waiting child) in February. She is two and a half and lives in Guangxi. We got our TA last week and are hoping to travel in around a month. We're still waiting for our CA in order to finalize the dates!

Oh pgruodis.....how exciting that you are so close! Can't wait to hear the good news. And mom3boys....a huge congratulations to you! Here's hoping your CA is scheduled real soon!
We are still waiting..and waiting....and waiting....Our LID is 01/24/07 for NSN and we also joined the SN program with our agency on 10/20/08. So....who knows...we just wait and get older and older by the day!

We're getting ready to start our paperwork for a second adoption later this summer. We're going to adopt special needs this time. So, we're kinda waiting too.

How do you calculate another 2 year wait? If China continues processing 6 days of referrals, the wait will be several years. Our LID is October 12/07 so we are very concerned. Am I missing something? Thank you, Eva

Eva, it's just wishful thinking. If I were to use math based on the gradual slow down over the past 2 years, we wouldn't get our referral till 2018. But if I were to use math based on the process we went thru with our first daughter, we would have expected our referral in 2008. (I've never believed either calculation) I'm one of those optimists who believes that China is in the process of a gradual speed up right now, with attrition as it is, and with no major events standing in the way. I'm very cautious to believe that there was a sudden and huge increase in domestic adoption of NSN children in 2007, which they say is the root cause of very few paper ready children in the mean time. There have been too many "baby" NSN referrals over the years to believe that. It seems likely that there would be more older toddlers (up to 24 months old) referred if the "babies" were mostly gone to domestic adoption. And even though the extended wait was gradual, the reason behind it (less babies) was sudden. I've just never bought into that. I believe there are reasons for the slow down, but I also believe that for many reasons, it was a controlled slow down.
You have to remember that only 3 years ago, people were getting referrals within 6 -10 months time. It didn't stay put then, and we don't have any really clear data to believe the wait time will stagnate or continue to go up over the long haul. So, I'm just taking it "chunks" at a time, and right now, and my "bet" is on another 2 years. I might have to reevaluate that thought in two years perhaps. But there's no way my mind can wrap itself around waiting another 6 years right now. And something in me just believes it will be around two more years for me.
