My politically incorrect daughter

DH brought home a HUGE stuffed duckling for Easter.
Today was share day at preschool, and when DD woke up this morning, she called out...Where's that Big, Fat, Chick?!? Then we went to get some breakfast, and we told her that the duck had to stay in the van. She replied innocently, "They don't allow big fat chicks inside?"

I'm very "fluffy", myself. And I'm sorry if anyone is offended by what she called the stuffed animal. I wasn't offended but I can see how someone might be listening and gasp at the wording. We're going to talk to her about renaming the chick, but it is.... a BIG, FAT, CHICK.

Anyone else have politically incorrect incidences with their children that you'd like to share?

Around age 3, Lily became obsessed with the movie Cinderella. She loved the seen where the fairy godmother uses her magic to change the torn gown into the beautiful, new one. She used to play the scene and swirl around and she also thought the silvery-grey-blue gown was white. It sort of looks white when the "magic" hits it from the wand. Anyway, while standing in line at Barnes and Nobles, Lily sees the cover to the book and it triggers her replay the scene. So, standing there in the middle of the line with a very multi-cultural crowd, Lily spins around, looks down at herself and declares "Look Mommy! I'm turning white!"

I so knew that she was refering to Cinderella's white gown, but I'm sure the others must have thought I was a really bad, bad mommy.

LOL! Well here's one big fat chick that would have howled at that.

We were at Target during Christmas season a couple of years ago. So busy with everyone needed a storeclerk. My then 7 year old and I were waiting for a price check on something when another clerk asked us if we needed help. My son says "No thank you, that old guy with the spots on his face is helping us". Oh vey! The man was around 50 (so not old) and had some moles on his face. And my son wasn't trying to be mean, just descriptive as they are at that age. Still though...ooops!

When she was two, my daughter discovered that she and her brother had different "plumbing." I was into proper terms so I explained that boys had penises and girls had vaginas. She then went around asking people what they had. (Luckily her speech wasn't very clear and my mom didn't understand what a 'gina was.)
