Happy CNY everyone.
It's the year of the Ox. Is anyone doing anything to celebrate?

Gung Hay Fat Choy! or Xin Nian Kuai Le!
We went to a Chinese New Year Celebration at Keira's Godmother's house. She has a big celebration every year and really goes all out! She has lots of great food, traditional snacks and favors and a huge backyard where they actually also have a big group performing Lion Dances. Last year Keira was scared to death of the lions and although she wasn't AS scared this time, there was no WAY she was getting anywhere near enough to put money in their "mouths" LOL. We had a blast and hope that everyone else has a wonderful New Year's!

Yay! Happy New Year! We went to our Chinese school's celebration this weekend, next weekend is the Chinatown parade, and then the following weekend we have a CNY party with our adoption group!!! So exciting!!! This is our first year home with our son, who is 4- the perfect age to enjoy the parties!
 We have been reading books all week about the dragons, and he was very disappointed there was not a dragon dance at his Chinese school's celebration (it was more a showcase of the dance classes, singing, instruments, kung fu, etc). o I promsied him next week in Chinatown we would be able to see the dragon!!!

All the families in our area who have adopted from China (more than 20) got together Sunday night for a big dinner at one of the Chinese restaurants.
They do this every year and it's a great time seeing all the kids (who range from teens to toddlers). This was the first time we got to go with our child, so it was much more fun for us. Jake had a great time, too. Kevin

Happy Year of the Ox!
 We are doing tons of fun stuff. We went to a CNY party Saturday night at a friend's house - and there were about 20 kids from China there between the ages of 1 and 4. Tomorrow is a CNY Toddler Tuesday event at the Mall of America, so I am taking the day off from work with Charlotte and we will meet other friends and also my Mom there. Then on Saturday another friend is having a smaller CNY party for us and all our kids, and then our FCC CNY event is on 2/8/ Tonight my DH made Chinese food for us - it was awesome. Charlotte also had a daycare CNY party today, too.
