A few golden strands

Cady has jet black hair. But as I brush it, I've seen a few....maybe 5-8 golden strands growing in various parts of her scalp. Not enough to stand out, but enough for me to notice them again and again, in the same places when I brush her hair at night. It's kind of odd. I don't think it's sun bleached, because they seem to come from the roots down. And the strands are each very, very far apart from each other. It started with one strand on the back of her head last summer. Now, I see around 6 others glimmer in the light of the lamp as I brush her hair. It's so beautiful....like spun gold. But I doubt anyone would notice it at all, unless they were pointed out.
She also just grew a very small, dark brown, beauty mark on her ring finger of her left hand. Scott and I swear it was not there last week. It's the size of a pencil dot. We told her the angels must have kissed her goodnight the other night.

Just curious if anyone else has noticed minor changes in their child's skin or hair since bringing them home. It's kind of fun seeing these things happen. And with darker skin and hair, it must be easier to notice than it was with my blonde/blue eyed son.

My son also has some beautiful golden strands in his hair. In the sunlight, his hair is the deepest brown. But I think it was always that way.

Mostly the changes we've seen have been that his hair and skin is healthier. His hair was coarse, now it's soft and fine. His excema has faded and now flares up only rarely.

No golden strands here, though as Lian's hair gets longer the you can see more of the red in her hair. Sometimes it really surprises me how much red she has in her hair.
