Medical requirements when adopting in China

Can anyone tell me how strict the medical requirements are when adopting in China? My Husband & I meet ALL the other China (Hague) requirements but I have taken a low dose of anti-depressent/anxiety drug for 5 years now that is working well for me.

I would consider trying to go off but it is working well for me and I would prefer not to.

Just wondering if you know if there is any wiggle room on this issue or if anyone has had some experience with this issue.

Thanks so much!

That is a tough call to make, especially now that China is more stringent and will likely become even more so in the near term. If you are with an agency have them prescreen your question at their China office. I had an unrelated question that concerned me and was given that option by my agency. Hope this helps

My understanding is that if the drug is being taken for depression, the rule is pretty black and white. But if the drug is taken for another reason, it may be allowed.

But to be sure, you should talk to an agency and ask if they can get a pre-approval from China on your application. Then you'd know for sure before you'd proceed.
