369 more LIDs to go and feeling down

Sorry to be so glume but 369 LID remaining before it is our turn and that is really making me sad. Nearly 2 years later and who knows how many more years ahead of us. The sad part is there are so many children in China needing a good home and loving family now. I dont buy this not enough babies and increases in domestic adoption garbage. Now that the Olympics are over in the months ahead I hope things for speed up. Well thats my rant, I feel better now.

We're right behind you with an April 07 LID.
Rant away.
Last year, an agency was telling it's clients that 08 would only bring January and February 06 LIDs, (I assume someone there talked with an official at CCAA at the time to get the info) so I fully expected that to happen, and so far it's come true.

I also expect we will get our referral in two years or less now. Our first daughter has always insisted that when she is 5 and a half, we will be in China getting her sister. The way I see it, her predictions are as good as any other, so I'm putting my faith in our three and a half year old.

That said, it seems believable that things will speed up slowly in 09, at least little by little. Between attrition within the program from the long waits, waiting parents switching to SN, and no more planning for the Olympics, something's gotta give...BTW, I also have not fully bought into the "less children/more domestic adoptions" theory. I believe some of it is true, but not enough to compensate for such a drastic change with IA that's cumulated for the past 2-3 years.

I know that the number of days can seen so overwhelming. Sometimes it feels as though we are moving backward rather than forward. Fortunately there comes a point where you can really see the progress. For me, it was when we dipped below the 100 day threshold. We have 90 more LID days for our turn and I have planned in my mind that we have about 15 more months to wait. I can't wait until it really feels as though we have less than a year. I have been telling people we have about a year to wait since we started!

Mom3boys ~ I am feeling the same way you are. Yesterday I asked my agency how we go about closing our file. I have the withdrawal form letter in draft and am hesistant to send.

We're so frustrated that CCAA hasn't even reviewed our application!! We thought by now we would at least have been reviewed. Our agency told us that February is out of review but we all know that March is a huge month so who knows how long that can take.

I honestly do not want to be a first time parent in another 2 -3 years from now. That will make me 46 or 47 years old. I know there are parents out there who have done it before, but we don't think it's for us. We're just scared to write the final letter closing our our application but we're still hanging on to that last bit of hope that things could change.
