Question Quick Question --please help

Hi

Recently my DH (32) and I (28) have decided to adopt a little girl from China , we currently have two bio boys ages 5 and 2. I know the age requirments for China are 30, but I also know it can take almost 3 years to actually adopt. So my question is, can we start the paperwork now considering the timeframe (I will be 30 in two years)? Or do I need to be 30 at the time the application is filed? Can one spouse be 30?

Any feedback much appreciated

You need to be 30 at the time the paperwork is filed. You can start the application process 3 - 6 months before you turn 30. This is what we did as my wife was not yet 30 when we started the process.

We started about 8 months prior to DH turning 30, and we needed all that time - actually, our paperchase took us 9 months. So I would say start 6-8 months prior to turning 30 (we ran into a few snafus - government shut-down, I-171H took a long time, UPS lost a package, etc).
