New SN Requirements

Has anyone recieved word regarding the new way the CCAA will be processing SN refferals. A little frustrating as since we were looking into SN from the beginning we couldn't wait to begin looking at kids, but now we have to wait until our LID comes in order from our agency.

Any thoughts or conversations?

My understanding is that this is coming around in conjunction with CCAA switching to a shared SN list (shared by most agencies). People matched with children from that list must be already LID or have their dossier nearly ready to submit.

I believe that some agencies are still getting individual lists. I don't know if these carry that same requirement for being LID.

I agree that this is a huge change from the way the program used to work. I had said if I was to adopt again, I would find my child on a list and then submit my dossier through whichever agency held the file of that child.

I think it might be a good thing overall as some agencies have a huge waiting list of prospective parents of waiting children and other agencies were returning unmatched files from each list. This should even that out.

I noticed recently the agency we worked with before had this requirement and we kinda view it as a negative. Along with the posibility that we would be competing with other families if we became interested in a child. I am sure many people don't like the idea of CCAA choosing a child for them, but we did. Perhaps once the new program is in place like specialk4b said things might be better.

Right now I think we've decided not to go SN because of these reasons, and we are still deciding if we are even going to adopt NSN again.
