Putting up the swingset

My hubby and my work hubby (Best friend from work, Brent) are now constructing a swingset. It's soooo intense out there right now I can barely stand my own back yard due to all the testosterone in the air.

LOL - that's some manly stuff! You and Lydia'd better steer clear.

Is that a chalk board in the little fort? That is a great idea.

Yes, that is a chalkboard. That was the selling point for this partucular set for us. Lydia loves to draw. She's been using that as much as the swings, maybe more.

How fun! I would love to have a swingset in our back yard, but we'll have to get a fence first.

We did the fence and swing set at the same time!! Yard was already fenced in, but not the level part - crucial for a swingset.... So we used our government check (can't remember what it was called again) for the swingset and bit the bullet on the fence!! Totally worth it - our backyard is huge now!!

mega!!

Our problem is that dh is a pastor, and we live in a parsonage. The fence is on the "to be done in the next few years" list, and since the church just remodeled our whole kitchen, I think we won't push for the fence just yet.

Oh my gosh....you did such a great job with your backyard! Too bad we live so far away or we'd be over in a flash to play and have fun on the chalkboard. Can't wait to see more pictures of Lydia enjoying her new swingset and little fort. Happy drawing Lydia!

Taking down the swingset..

Enjoy!!!!! Take tons of pictures. We may take down our old swingset. I could barely tell my 19 yr old that it might come down. The paint is gone and the rust is there. And, yet I got tears...... She told me that we have to save the concrete footing piece with her print in it! Yes, enjoy!!!!!!!!!! -Karen

My parents' neighbors gave us their swingset. So DH, my dad & brother-in-law had to tear it down & then put it back together at our house. A little bit stressful trying to figure out what went where. But they got it up!

We just got one delivered this past Wednesday. I'm actually thinking about selling boxes similarly to the kind you see around the Super Bowl to predict scores. Our boxes would be predicting the date my husband will actually put it up. He is sooooo not looking forward to it. Hope it isn't that bad.
