I found this reunion on youtube.
She was adopted 20 years ago, in an IA from Korea. She went back to visit her birth family.
She must have been with the birth family till she was around 2 yrs old because the end of the video shows pictures of her with her brother before she was placed for adoption.

wow that was emotional. I can't imagine how hard that must have been for him at that age to have had her in the family for a few years and then her be given up for adoption. That had to be very hard on him growing up.

I thought the same thing. It had to haunt her brother for a long time. SO many questions must have gone thru his head.
Her a-parents seemed so supportive of her going back. She was old enough to where she did not need their approval, but the fact that they let her go a few days early before joining her means that they are very respectful of her feelings and space.
I hope to be that type of parent for my own daughters.

Has anyone else seen the PBS documentary "Daughter from Danang"? A woman adopted from Vietnam returns back as an adult to meet her birth family. You probably could request it from your local library or through Netflix.

It shows what may happen after the initial euphoria of meeting... the culture clash and all the complexities.
I think it was very honestly made and worth seeking out.

Thank you so much for posting this. It was beautiful and hurtful to watch. It reminds us, I think, that all of our children once had lives so entirely different from the one we are creating for them. They were, at birth, destined to take an entirely different path than the one they were finally given. They were, at birth, supposed to remain with their families. That is what every child wants. I often look at my daughter, wishing I could see her bio mom and dad, her relatives, and whatever siblings she may have. Most of all, I wish that I could let her bio parents know that their daughter is OK. And if ever an opportunity came for my daughter to reconnect with her first family, I would support her every step of the way. I know that some day she will wonder why her first mom and family gave her up; she will look at that video we shot of the deserted park where she was abandoned, in card-board box at two weeks of age -- and wonder. I hope that some day she will get answers.
