Current Wait time
Hi...
Anyone know what the current wait from dossier completion to referral is? I just turned 28, so we can't start dossier preparation for another year and a half. also, wondering if the new restrictions of no antidepressants, obesity law, no singels, etc....may cause the wait to be less eventually due to fewer eligible couples? |

I think that eventually it is believed that the wait will come down as a result of new rules. Most agencies would report that applications are way down. The problem now is that they have a huge backlog. We have been logged in for over 20 months and aren't even close to the end. Many people speculate that the wait will reach 4 or 5 years. We really just don't know, but if they continue at the current pace it will take forever to get through the huge backlog of applications.

People who just got referrals early this month waited 2 years. The wait is growing every month though so as Mom3boys said the wait could very well grow to 4 or 5 years. I expect that the wait will come down once they get though LIDs after the new rule changes last May. It could take a while to get to that point though.
