Just for fun: $500

If someone gave you $500 out of the blue, how would you spend it?

I would donate it to my fav charity.....Ok, I wish I would do that but likely I would put it into our vacation fund. Isn't it amazing how fast 500 dollars goes these days....

I would start an education savings account for my baby, something that we are planning to do soon anyway. Show me the money!

I am stunned. I don't know what I would do. My first thought was chance it on something. (I am not a gambler, but if it was given to me; play the lotto or something) My second thought was give it to my daughers birthmom since it would take alot more than $500 to help me.. SO i got to thinking , what if it was $50,000. That I can daydream forever about. New car? college fund? pay off a debt? dream vacation every year for ten years? Ok back to reality I now know what I would do. I would hire someone to clean/ organize my house (will $500.00 do that?)

Well since we are starting to update our homestudy and it costs $500 to update it, I would spend it on that.

I would put it towards bills - probably our new furnace that we just had to get because our old one broke (a month after getting home from China...)

it would cover the cabin that we intend to stay in for a week. Our vacation is next month to Gatlinburg and it is SOOOO needed, and I can't wait.

Ugh - I know! We had to get snow tires for our MINI the same week that our furnace broke - it was an expensive week!

Time

I happen to be "OK" in the money department- but if money could buy a few extra hours in the day- that's what I would buy- and spend them 100% on my daughter- not worrying about work, answering the phone, cleaning, or anything!

Whoever commented about the "ZOOM" whitener- I went for an appointment to get mine done- set it up a couple of weeks out, went- got prepped, then the dentist came & said my teeth were as white as they could be- and even if I think they are a little off- according to their charts my teeth are what others wanted- but they did it anyway- cost alot- I saw no difference.

Any "free" money is fun- spent different than if it was hard earned money.

Cool thread.
