Glad to hear this. I know that a DUI is always something to be taken seriously, and I personally feel that he did take it seriously. We all all human, and we all make mistakes. I have never felt compelled to judge this family, and I am just glad to see a happy outcome for little Mia. My friend met Michelle and Mia at the White Swan when she was in China, and she very much enjoyed meeting them.

Im glad all those in limbo are now in a resolved situation. Had to be very stressful. And I bet that after this occurrence the adoptive father will certainly think twice about taking to the road while intoxicated(many folks drink socially in restaurants etc.)

Hi,

I have mixed emotions on this. Yes, I'm happy that this little girl didn't have another transition or loss. However, I'm greatly disappointed to see this family get rewarded for their dishonesty and deception. I also fear that this families dishonesty will impact the CCAA/PAP relationship.

Very happy it's resolved. What I hope happens now is that the "hole" in the system that allowed this to happen iin the first place is fixed by the agencies and the government so no other family falls victim to this kind of situation. I am sure they are relieved to be together again...but I am also sure they will be feeling the emotional and financial repercussions of this for quite some time. May God bless them.

I'm really glad to see this resolved. I, too, have mixed feelings on the situation, but am really glad to see it resolved and out of the spotlight.

I agree. When we all start having to do additional homestudy updates and fingerprints right before we travel, it will be because of situations like this. If I was the CCAA, I would require it after being deceived by that agency.

We had to do a homestudy update, new fingerprints and a new 171H right before travel and it had nothing to do with this family's situation. FWIW, we were told to bring the hs update with us to China but were not asked for it by anyone in China.

I honestly don't know why people are insisting that the CCAA had no knowledge of this. It is an assumption at best.
