Family Leave Insurance Act of 2007

Has anyone researched this yet?

CJOnline - Having a baby? Get paid time off

I was browsing the internet and came across this article. It sounds like great news for fathers and mothers that choose not to take FMLA after adoption because they think that they can't afford to.

I love this! I am happy to see they included adoptions but the word "newborn" bothers me. Our babies will not be "newborns" but will need just as much care and bonding time. Hopefully, that will be taken into account.

It's about time!!!!!

When I was telling my employer that I would be leaving for China and then needed to take 6 weeks off, I was told I had to take my sick time. I have about 9 weeks of sick time accrued so I felt that by taking 6 weeks I could still get a paycheck and not have to worry about money. I then reviewed my benefit package and found out about the FMLA. After calling HR they told me that I was eligible to take 6 consecutive weeks off fully paid without having to use my sick time! What a nice surprise!
