Questions about timeline for a waiting child

Hello! We are ecstatically (if that is a word) sending in a LOI today for an adorable little 3 year old waiting boy. I don't think I can give any details yet, but I will post when I can.

My question is: in your experiences, how long does each step take in the process? We already have an LID of 11/27/06, which means it still might not be reviewed yet (aren't they on October?) Once we send in the LOI, how long does the PA take? Or is the SCL next? I am so confused!!! I just want to know around when we can go pick him up!!!

Congratulations Becky!

My understanding is that the timeline can vary, though I've heard the general answer is 4-6 months after both your LOI and dossier are in China. It's quicker if you've already been through review.

Share more when you can!

Congratulations!

I actually had a similar question, since our LOI will be sent back to the agency hopefully on Friday, for a little 19 month old SN boy. And if all goes well, our dossier should be through review this month anyway.

I hope everything goes smoothly (and quickly) for you!

Thanks - we are unbelievably excited! I don't know how long we're expecting to wait at this point... I've heard so many different things. We're guessing probably about 5 or 6 months (that seems so quick after the long NSN waits!)

Keep us posted!

We switched from NSN to SN and accepted a waiting child last mid June. It took almost 100 days for the LOA and then only a few weeks for travel approval. Best of luck! We are so happy with Caroline, all of her tests indicated she is happy, healthy and well nutritioned!
