Adoption Doctor Advice/Recommendations

I live in LI,NY. Can anybody recommend an adoption doctor, Suffolk, Nassau and/or in the city? I would appreciate if anybody can elaborate on your general experience. So far I called one pediatrician who told me nothing but gloom and doom and I didn't even get the referral yet (I'll pass on that one)! Thanks.

I would get in touch with my local FCC and see what Dr's they used. You can also call the peds in your area to see if they are familiar with IA children. Good luck. Denise

You can try a major University as well. We looked for doctors that dealt with Internation children and could not find any at first and tried our local peds. That was a diseaster. Now we go to a ped thru the Major University and one of the questions on their form was "Is you child adopted International" and "what country" It has been wonderful. Just keep looking and if they do not seem right in your gut, do not use them and do not be afraid if you do try them and hate them to change. Remember they work for us!
