Fees for filing the I600a are going up, effective July 30, 2007. The good news is that if you already have an approved I-600A that is about to expire, and have not yet filed your I-600 petition, you can receive one free extension of your I-600A by filing a new I-600A without fee before the first expires. Here's the new fee schedule: http://www.uscis.gov/files/nativedoc...dule052907.pdf |

OK, so let me get this straight.
We were LID April 15, 2007 and do not expect a referral till April 2009. So during the wait, when ours expires, we can renew it for free, before April 2009?

If I understand it correctly it means that you must apply for a new one before it expires. Ours was granted on April 6, 2006 and lasts for 18 months. We would then need to re-apply before November 6,2007 for the new one in order for it not to have fees. Is that how others understand it.

That's how I read it, just make sure you apply before your old one expires. ![]() |

When you say an extension do you mean an actual extension or a partre extension? Our agency is hooked on getting trips booked before the partre is complete. I don't know what else to do.

pgruodis ~ You might want to call to see you you're eligible for the free extension, even though yours expires just days before the new structure takes place.
