Something my Mom Says Often:
You won't believe what a deal I got on this!

Something my Mom Cooks Well:
Homemade Chicken and Noodles (my favorite food in the whole wide world)

Something my Mom Did to Spoil me (just a little!):
Always keeping my favorite snacks in the cupboard

Something that always reminds me of my Mom and why it reminds me of her:
The telephone -- my mom has always called me a hundred times a day (it drives my husband nuts!), but it is one way that she feels connected to me. When I was younger I was a latchkey kid, so she called to make sure I was OK. As I grew up and moved out, she wanted to see what was going on with me and tell me what was going on with her. Now I think she calls everytime she has a thought.

Something I hope I will continue just like my Mom:
Always being there at my kids events cheering them on, making them feel like they are the best at what they do. And in those events that they don't win, letting them know that they are ALWAYS tops with me. (Thanks mom for doing that for me!!)

Something my Mom Says Often: Really..

Something my Mom Cooks Well: Cheesecake & Eclair Cake...really everything

Something my Mom Did to Spoil me (just a little!): We had shopping trips just the two of us and we would shop all day...

Something that always reminds me of my Mom and why it reminds me of her: Shopping, because we are great shoppers together & it's our favorite pasttime...

Something I hope I will continue just like my Mom: I hope to pass on the amount of love that she passed on to me. Always feeling like there is somebody there to take care of you, or fall back to if you ever needed it. She always makes us feel special when coming home to visit, planning meals, etc. I hope to do the same for Cooper.

Something my Mom Cooks Well:

French Meat pie & potatoe salad

Something my Mom Did to Spoil me (just a little!):

Music...My mom always had music playing in the house. When I hear Elton John, Bread, K.T. Oslin & many others I always think of my Mom.[/quote]

My mom and I went to a K.T.Oslin concert a few years back. Whatever happened to her? How about Joan Baez? Bread was one of my favorites growing up. Willie Nelson is also another one that in most recent years, when I visit Mom, she has playing in the background while she/we are making dinner together.
One time she played some music while we were making dinner and we danced in the kitchen together. What wonderful memories. Thanks for bringing me back.

My mom died in November '01, but...

Something my Mom Said Often: Don't look at me in that tone of voice!

Something my Mom Cooked Well: homemade bread, manicotti, italian crepes

Something my Mom Did to Spoil me (just a little!): Whenever I was home from college she'd load up the frig with my favorite treats... even when they weren't my favorites anymore... I'm the original "food snob".

Something that always reminds me of my Mom and why it reminds me of her:

Italian Opera
The Mets
Lavender and purple irises... they came up every year in our front yard and my dad would buy my mom another one each year for Easter.

Something I hope I will continue just like my Mom: My mom worked hard all her life, but alway seemed to exude a strong life force no matter how tired she might have felt. She'd come home from work, take a 20 minute power nap, and be able to keep rolling 'til midnight!

I think I got my sense of optimism from her.

I hope I can give my daughter(s) a sense of independence like she gave us.

Something my Mom Says Often: Nothing comes to mind, but she does have this look she gives us to let us know she means business!

Something my Mom Cooks Well: Enchiladas! Her are the best I have ever had!

Something my Mom Did to Spoil me (just a little!): I was the only girl and the youngest, so there were many. Mostly, shopping. She still tries to buy me stuff when we go to the mall.

Something that always reminds me of my Mom and why it reminds me of her: Vacuuming! When I was little, my mom would give me vacuum rides.

Something I hope I will continue just like my Mom: Reading. My mom always read to us growing up, she loves to read, I love to read, so I hope I will pass that onto my children. That, and spending time with her. There is so much I would love to continue, my mom IS my best friend! (sorry Dev!)
