Pediatric electrolyte solutions

Ok, what's the story with the powdered form of Pedialyte and Liquilytes? I cannot find these anywhere. Does anyone know where I can buy it in Southern California or online or anywhere? This is really frustrating.
Thanks!

They are in Walmart by the baby food. They are made by Gerber. They come in a little box about the size of a band-aid box. They sometimes are moved to one of the end caps in our Walmart, but they are still in the baby section close to the food. Good luck in finding them. I didn't need them on my trip, the glycerin suppositories were our life saver!

I'm on the East Coast, but the local supermarkets carry powdered KaoLectrolyte in the baby section with the Pedialyte.

When we adopted our son in 2001 we ordered the powdered pedialyte through the pharmacy in Wal-Mart. The pharmacies can order most anything and it got there very quickly. I will do this again if I need to.

Walmart in the baby area or Babies R Us. I bought the Gerber ones.

That's interesting. I didn't find it in Walmart or at Babies R Us (in So. Cal). Last night I went to a local pharmacy (Rite Aid) and found a couple of boxes of the pharmacy brand packets and bought those just in case I don't find the other ones. My family was looking for the powdered Pedialyte and Liquilytes in the Boston area and couldn't find them either. This is too strange.

If we can't find the powder form, should we bring the liquid form? I know it weighs more, but this is something we should for sure bring?

I've searched and searched our Wal-Mart and Babies-R-Us here in So. Cal. and no luck. In fact both stores looked at me like I was clueless about the whole pedialyte thing. You'd think having my 4kiddos in tow would give them a clue that I kind of knew what I was talking about I will try the drug stores next.

Give me a holler fellow So. Cal'ers if you find them.

Have you tried Walgreens? They have them there as well, but they're more expensive. No, I would not bother with the liquid, that would be too heavy.

Do a search online, there are a couple of pharmacies that you can buy it from if you really can't find them locally.

Here's a link to make homemade ORT if you can't find the other stuff in the store.

I asked my mom to keep an eye out for it if she's at a drug store. She was at Walgreens the other day & asked the pharmacist - they told her they can order it in. So I'm thinking I'll go to my local Walgreens & see if they can do the same. If they can, that would be easier than running all over town.

I posted earlier that I have found them many times at Long's Drugs and our Albertson's. We live in Southern Cal. too.

Just an FYI - I sent an email to Gerber to inquire about Liquilytes and they just informed me that they discontinued the instant mix form as a result of a "marketing decision". So much for Liquilytes.

The freezer pop ones will work - on Pedialyte's website it says if you don't have time to freeze it, you can pour it into a glass & drink it. Would those be good for traveling then?
