Hi there
Anyone here on the waiting child timeline? What are the current timelines if you are already LID? And what is the basic process? IE paperchase, dtc, lid and referral for NSN. ![]()

We completed a SN adoption last year so I don't know what the timelines are now. When we did it, our LOI and dossier were sent 1 1/2 weeks apart - LOI on April 26 and dossier on May 5 with LID of May 19. We received PA on June 6. We got our TA on Aug 1 and traveled on Aug 31.

We are on the SN track and because of the rule change possibly impacting us, we decided to wait to submit an LOI for a child until after we knew we would make the May 1 deadline. Now, we are waiting for our agency to receive profiles that meet the criteria we feel comfortable commiting to, which should be this month sometime. Once our son finds us
, we will submit an LOI and hopefully will receive PA within 4 to 6 weeks. From there, there's the new LOA that is taking a long time right now...I think some people have been waiting for close to or over 100 days recently. After that is received and then returned to CCAA, the TA comes, but I don't think TA is any faster for the SN/WC track. The way I do the math, if our little guy finds us by June, we should still have a good chance of traveling this year.

Our Timeline
Here is our timeline. Our agency made us wait to get PA before we whent DTC. Less chance of the file ending up in the wrong place....
Matched 9/11/06 LOI 10/6/06 PA 11/20/06 DTC - 11/21/06 LID - 12/20/06 LOA 4/9/07 So, at this point we have been waiting 7 months to the day. We expect to travel the first part of May, we will be 8 moths from LOI to Gotcha! April |
