Nj Cis
I am a single Mom to a wonderful 2 year old daughter I adopted in September 2005. I am trying to get in my dossier to adopt #2 before April 1 (to make the May 1 cutoff for singles). I am scrambling to get everything done and hope the turnaround time for my 171H isn't too long.
Does anyone know how long it takes in NJ to get a fingerprint appointment? And once that is done, how long before the 171H is received. I'm just trying to manage my expectations. I have a feeling I'm going to be sweating it out. |

My info is old, but it's all I know. I sent the I-600A and homestudy in last year around this time. It took 2 weeks from when I mailed everything in for me to get my notice of fingerprint appt in the mail, which was scheduled for about 4 weeks after I had mailed them. Then after prints, I got the i-700 in 6 weeks. So the whole thing from mailing I600A to getting I171 took about 10 weeks. But as I said, that was a year ago - not sure if it's faster or slower now.
Good luck! |

Thank you for the info, although its not what I wanted to hear. I am going to try to hand deliver my I600A tomorrow morning and I will attach a note requesting that it be expedited. I hope someone will help move this along quicker than 10 weeks. That is too long!!!
